Adam is definitely the weakest part of Live from Orensanz and I love that album so much. Fazzi and the band sound amazing. I wish so much they had just studio-recorded those arrangements and let Adam take his time to get perfect takes; and maybe throw in 5 more songs.
Agreed. There’s a part in My Blue Heaven where he goes to sing the word “safe” and his vocal cords are like “lol, nope”. He starts off strong with Makedamnsure though
I love Live from Orensanz but the song 'New Again' is unlistenable on it...Adam's voice cracks so much it's so bad.
Lowkey best part of that album is the performance of Decade/Lightning Song...which says a lot because the Carpathia, Phasers and EMG performances are also amazing.
Easily the worst song on it. Everything else I love, this one gets skipped. (Original sucks too anyways.)
Anyone know if they're working on new material yet? Just got done playing TIdal Wave on the record player. Really need to get around to picking up the rest of the discography. Got WYWTB, Happiness Is, and Tidal Wave so far. I remember the summer Louder Now came out so vividly, that might be my next purchase EDIT: Immediately order Louder Now after posting this. I am weak.
Grab a hold of their self titled record... very underrated, I’d say grab new again simply just for the song Everything Must Go!
I have TAYF, WYWTB, LN & Happiness Is on vinyl. I think I bought all of them on vinyl for super cheap. Like $12-16 sales on Amazon with the exception of LN, which I bought at the local record store for $19. I'd like to eventually get TW on vinyl. I have little interest of getting ST on vinyl and am on the fence about New Again. If Live from Orensanz ever got repressed (or pressed at all?) I would throw a good chunk of change for that.
Also I just remembered this thinking back on the Oral History, didn't Adam not want "Didn't See That Coming" in there at all? I think he had said that because on top of the fact that New Again wasn't the hit they were hoping for, it was a B-side and most people wouldn't know it. I could be wrong about that though.
i don't know if that's 100% accurate but, I think Orensanz was like the ONLY time they've ever played it live, so, there could be some truth there. EDIT: just looked up on setlist.fm, and that's correct. Orensanz is the only time the song has ever been performed.
Copy of Louder Now arrived. What a classic. No idea why it's get shit on, their sound got bigger but In a good way
It does have some of their best songs, but the drum production is garbage and how songs like “Brooklyn” and “Sleep” got left off for songs like “Up Against” and “Miami” i’ll never know. Although the latter half of “Miami” is one of the albums best moments.
"Up Against" I understand, but why take off "Miami" when there is "I'll Let You Live", "20-20 Surgery", and "Divine Intervention" ?
Divine Intervention and Miami are two of the albums best songs lol and Miami is a top 10 TBS song Up Against & 20/20 for sure could have been left on the floor though
