Morning Sickness is basically what became You Got Me though and that song is so fun. Also, "Falling..." is a lowkey great song. So underrated.
@Larry David @AlwaysEvolving21 @js977 @aoftbsten Her account on how it went: I got there on Friday at 5am and finally got to the hotel and slept a bit then wrapped everything. Because I made them and their crew scarves and scarves for mg friends I had an entire suitcase filled with scarves and wrapping material lol! I wrapped the scarves around the books and in tissue and put them in boxes. And then once all the stuff was wrapped I put it all in a giant and I mean GIANT black bag with a tag for them and left it in the back of Starland where they load in and out. Their tour manager got it and took it to them but they didn’t open it until the next day and I wasn’t there for it. Mark just walked up to me and was like that was really cool of you and you didn’t have to and John and Eddie agreed and I was like well I am happy you guys liked it I wasn’t sure if I went over board and they were like no we love it and then Shaun came in and agreed and then Adam Told me thank you for it after the show he came and held my hand and shook it and said thank you and made a book gesture and then put his hand on his heart.
blows my mind that falling isn't a consensus top 2-3 track on that album warms my heart haha tell her i (we) say thanks for doing it!
if they had finished "you were right" it would've been a great closer (but "call me in the morning" is already a great closer). as it stands it's still one of my fav tbs songs ever
Underrated song for sure. Damn catchy and I love old school feel of the verses. It sounds like something you'd here come on a jukebox in Happy Days. And I mean that in the best way haha.
Part of me hopes the band will release an album of all of their B-sides including finished versions of the S/T demos
I've seen them close with all sorts of different songs over the years: Cute, No i in Team, Your Own Disaster, Decade, MDS. It's one of the things I liked about seeing them for so long is that they used to switch it up. Seems like the last 4-5 years it's strictly been MDS and it's just gotten so predictable.
Wasn't their Jamaica thing supposed to be in a few weeks. I think we all know the real reason why it got cancelled, but at the time of cancellation, didn't they kind of BS us into saying they cancelled for good reason because something came up and we'd hear about it soon?
we all assumed it was ticket sales right? that's what i assumed, that they were ridiculous to assume they could make that happen, but i also thought it maybe had something to do with eddie's not so brief departure/step back. in any event, yes, we were told that a better opportunity came up and then we got nothing.
I think a great closing song would be 'You're So Last Summer' They could extend that ending part an do some cool stuff with it, maybe even add in some medley during the end. I don't know. I just really like that song, specifically the long end.
Along with "The Metal Song" the heavy version of "You Can Slow Dance On The Inside". The live videos of those sound killer.
I think the timing too with the whole Fyre Festival debacle may have had something to do with it. Plus it was expensive af. I'd be into them maybe doing a cruise like Salty Dog or Parahoy. I think they could pull together a few other bands and some fun activities to make that happen successfully
I seriously bet less than 10 people bought tickets for that. It would have been a serious disaster. I remember when the tickets went on sale, I did a Twitter search and only saw like 3 or 4 people who actually bought tickets for it. We talked about it a lot in this thread during that time, so I don't want to rehash everything, but it was such an odd thing for them to try and do.
It probably would've been a smart move in their Louder Now days at the height of their commercial success.
It is, but I don't use Spotify. I use Apple Music and figured it would eventually make it's way to YouTube or something. I'm pretty sure its a Spotify exclusive so the chances of it ever being on Apple Music are 0%
