Louder Now would be a perfect record if "Brooklyn" and "Sleep" had replaced "Up Against" and "Twenty Twenty Surgery" respectively.
Oh man, I'm excited for you to hear "Fences" and "Call Come Running" for the first time EDIT: This all assuming you're listening to Tidal Wave for the first time. Apologies if I was mistaken haha
Yeah, I like Twenty Twenty but it doesn't really seem to fit with the rest of the album. Up Against is one of my least favorite TBS songs overall.
During the bracket someone used setlist.fm and listed more random NA songs being played than you would think. Still very rare, but a few sprinkled in there now and then.
Watching Taking Back Sunday performing Everything Must Go live is brutal, and yes they only play it now and then, and that seems to be on purpose. Interchanging with Better Homes makes sense. Can't wait to hear the songs of the last two records live though.
I like the whole album a lot save for the catholic knees/capital/carpathia run. Also, adding cut me up Jenny makes it a 4-song run of C titles. Bold.
I've asked them to play Sink Into Me on Twitter like 150 times when going to see them. Since John has returned they've played (from New Again) Everything Must Go pretty regularly and I've occasionally seen that they played Lonely, Lonely and Catholic Knees.
I’ve seen them play: Sink Into Me New Again Everything Must Go Carpathia Granted all but EMG was 2009
i like when the TBS thread is talking good about TBS and not talking shit about TBS haha Tidal Wave grows on me more and more every time I listen
Listened to all of those back in 2012 throughout four shows. They only played EMG in the last concert of South America's tour though.
I got some time so here we go: According to Setlist.fm (I did not include 2009 numbers since that's when they toured off New Again, and it'd make sense for them to play NA songs) New Again was played once in 2010. Never again Sink Into Me was played 6 times in 2010 and once in 2011. Never again Lonely, Lonely was played 5 times in 2010 and once in 2013 Summer, Man hasn't been played since 2009 Swing was played once in 2010. Never again Where My Mouth Is hasn't been played since 2009 Cut Me Up Jenny hasn't been played since 2009 Catholic Knees was played 10 times in 2013 (that surprised me) The only 2 times Capital M-E were ever played were in 2010 Carpathia was played 4 times in 2010, Never again. Everything Must Go: 8x in 2010, 11 in 2011, 2 in 2012, 14 in 2017. I'm pretty stunned that Swing and Carpathia weren't/aren't played more. They still match the mood/style of the band today and I remember when New Again was released, the band talked very highly of Swing and acknowledged that it was a fan favorite. I remember they did promo limo listens for New Again, where fans were invited to listen to the album and they said Swing was the biggest hit out of those sessions.
They played New Again for their live album along with Carpathia Taking Back Sunday - Live From Orensanz - Amazon.com Music Pretty good live album overall. Wish it got a physical DVD release.
You made me look it up ALL the shows that I went to and yes, you are correct. They did play EMG 'cause I kept asking them in Santiago, though: Taking Back Sunday Setlist at Citibank Hall, São Paulo Taking Back Sunday Setlist at Citibank Hall, Rio de Janeiro Taking Back Sunday Setlist at El Teatro Flores, Buenos Aires Taking Back Sunday Setlist at Teatro Teletón, Santiago
My favorite versions of Make Damn Sure and Everything Must Go are on that album. Decade Under and Cute versions are both soooo good too.
Only time I was supposed to see TBS in the NA era, they (and Weezer) were opening for Blink 182. But Blink rescheduled the CLE date due to DJ AM’s death and TBS/Weezer didn’t come back with them :(
Same here. I was supposed to see a blink-182 date with Weezer and Taking Back Sunday, but the rescheduled date ended up having Fall Out Boy and The Academy Is...
