LN is definitely decent I will give it that. Guess I'm due for a TBS discography run in the near future.
I normally don’t listen to TBS too much outside of spring and summer but the compilation thread has me listening again. As for louder now, I didn’t listen to it much when it came out but now when I revisit it I’m astounded by how good it is and would probably have it higher in my TBS rankings if I had more of an emotional/nostalgic connection with it.
I don’t see anything wrong with the band/Eddie making some sort of generic statement that says “Due to a personal (or family) matter, Eddie will be stepping away from TBS for *insert time period here* we ask that fans respect his privacy and we hope to get him back soon” or something like that. That would eliminate any rumors or speculation on a band that has already had several lineup changes throughout their history. Again, do a twitter search of Eddie Reyes after any TBS show and you’ll see dozens of fans asking where he was. The whole thing just seems odd.
I still haven't listened to Tidal Wave. These guys are playing Slam Dunk in May either as sub headliner or headlining the second/third stage so I absolutely should, but I still haven't properly connected with a full album of theirs since Louder Now. for the record, my favourite is WYWTB, followed by TAYF/LN, then probably the last few are all "good" but not amazing for me.
Holy shit though, if this is representative of their setlists now, I can totally get on board. Even the two best HI songs... Taking Back Sunday Setlist at Xfinity Live, Philadelphia
That setlist is exactly what I'd want to see from them, especially if they also played One-Eighty By Summer.
Guess they don't play anything from New Again any more? Surprised to not see anything from the self-titled also. Amazing set list though (possibly because of the two omitted albums). With so many songs I'm sure it gets hard to make these and please everyone.
Well, New Again is a garbage fire of an album. Totally makes sense why they rarely play stuff off of it.
I saw them play Everything Must Go at their Riot Fest aftershow in September this year. They also played El Paso and Faith from the self-titled. Taking Back Sunday Setlist at Bottom Lounge, Chicago
I'm not so sure they really EVER played anything off New Again, except maybe in 2009 before John/Shaun returned and maybe Everything Must Go every now and then after that. Other than that, I can't recall ever seeing any New Again songs post reunion and I've seen TBS 14 or 15 times. I've also only seen them play ST songs on the ST tour. Once HI came out, I don't recall them playing anything other than Call me in the Morning and maybe Faith.
A couple of shows on the summer tour they played Everything Must Go (sometimes in the same night they played Better Homes and Gardens). There’s been talk of Swing but nothing’s guaranteed. It’s weird to me that 180 isn’t a setlist staple because it’s SO GOOD Edit to add: I think in 2013 they played catholic knees?
Turns out I like this album quite a bit more than the last two, only three songs in and it's already better than Happiness Is and the self titled.
