I hope they continue to push their sound in places they haven't before. Last album sounded fresh because we hadn't heard them they some of those sounds. Edit: I think I used the word 'sound' too much
Sounds like you sounded pretty good when you used the word sound about their sound when describing their sound and the new fresh sounds you hope they continue to keep in their sounds.
I really really really liked the direction they went in for Tidal Wave. It totally suits them as a band and as people. I also feel like they finally found a new identity as a band with that sound. Took a couple good albums (S/T and Happiness Is) to get this point with the original line up, but they finally succeeded and theres still more room for growth. Also...I'm digging the Silver color theme with a super-special, totally-radical, gold edition.
i want a super heavy aggressive TBS album but i doubt that'll ever happen. them continuing with the TW style is just fine and id also love to hear some alt country influence
yeah all their releases have at least 1 heavier cut. Spin, Swing, HIMYM, No I In Team, hell even Ballad Of Sal is a pretty aggressive track. id just love an album full of that shit. maybe, just maybe, touring with ETID will make them let some of that influence overtake them and just release this aggressive, dark record. oddly enough thats what i want The Used to do also.
I'd be ok with something that continued and advanced the Tidal Wave sound but threw in dark and heavy influences. That would rock. I love TBS at their hardest but I'd also want more faster like Call Come Running and the like
i want an album full of BHAG, TDHAF, WWYT with a tinge of the more Americana side of TW. Perfect mix of straight rock and heaviness for them I think.
I think the next album will further expand upon songs like "You Can't look Back" "Fences" and "Homecoming", and that just fine by me. But if they threw in a sweet radio-rock banger like "Call Come Running" or "In the Middle Of It All", I wouldn't be ma about it.
Would be go to have an album full of songs like Fences, Homecoming, Death Wolf, and How I Met Your Mother. Folky-Americana rock mixed with heavier TBS sounds pretty amazing.
Friends of mine saw them last week and said they sounded awful. Not only just Adam's vocals, but the band sounded lazy.
Adam's vocals aside because I've accepted that he's been hit or miss for like 10 years, sometimes John seems really checked out at shows. I occasionally see clips where he's not moving much and/or barely strumming his guitar. We all have our off days i guess. Mark and Shaun are always killing it though.
