Does anyone need a ticket for tomorrow night in Cleveland? My girlfriend works super early on Wednesday morning and we're going to see Thrice in Columbus so she's wants to skip seeing the new album twice in as many weeks. I'm looking to sell for $35, to make back as much as I can. Let me know if you or anyone you know still needs a ticket!

Nashville can't be that expensive can it?

It sold out before I knew it. Stubhub cheapest with fees is 108. I got one 100 cash from a guy finally. :/

Going to see them in New Orleans in a couple weeks. First show by myself. Anyone else going?

Going tonight. Can't believe they didn't sell out a 600 cap room

Really excited to see YBI! and for hopefully a fun crowd during TBS second set

This is just splitting hairs but isn't it 500 person cap? Which actually makes it even worse. Lol. I'm shocked as well. I feel like they may skip Cleveland the next tour or two now.

I really hope the crowd goes nuts and we can get the "encore". That'd be great.

Can this be blamed on Hopeless too? Bayside also played Agora Ballroom last month with The Menzigers and Sorority Noise and that didn't sell out until after doors opened.

Both these bands typically play House of Blues in Cleveland and sell pretty well, if not sell out.

Seems too much of a coincidence that both bands bombed on the charts and are playing smaller venues and not selling out.

I didn't think of it that way, that's really possible. Hasn't Bayside downgraded in venue sizes the last few years? I can't really say since I hadn't seen them in a few years before that show last month. But I know every time I saw TBS here was mainly at the House of Blues and they where sold out. I hopped right on tickets because I was certain it'd sell out instantly because it was a small venue but here we are three hours to showtime and it's not. Maybe people got word that they are doing the new album in its entirety and decided to pass? That's part of the reason my girlfriend said she didn't care to go again tonight when she has an early morning / long day tomorrow.

We did 600 for Bayside, it honestly all depends but it's usually 600-750 and then Theater can be capped at 1200 without the balcony and 1800 with

Honestly weird but not sure. TBS doesn't have support that draws like no YBI fan is going to pay 35 plus fees. Bayside support was solid so I'm unsure of that.

TBS were just here in June which wasn't too long ago so maybe a lot of people decided to go to that and not this? I don't know. Cleveland's market is starting to become strange for sure

Bayside played House of Blues in march or April of 2015. Place was packed. Balcony was open. I've seen them play House of Blues at least 3 or 4 times.

The Tidal Wave announcement didn't come until well after tickets went on sale. I literally thought they would have sold this out in 15 minutes.

Someone made a good point in one of the TBS threads that they've oversaturated the market. They're always on tour and have played Cleveland a ton. I've seen them a dozen times here.

Bayside plays here very frequently as well.

Oh, okay. I had missed that show. I knew that they played the House of Blues before but I wasn't sure how recent that was because I knew they've also played Beachland in the past, since they "got big". I just kind of loss interest in them so I wasn't sure but couldn't miss this past tour because I wanted to see The Menzingers.

But, I am 100% with you. I made sure I was on it when the tickets when I sale because I really expected an instant or close to instant sell out of the show. When I mentioned the Tidal Wave aspect of the show what I meant was: that could be what is holding people back from getting the tickets in the last week and a half or so. I also agree with the other statement you made, they are in this area a lot. This will be the 8th time I've seen them in Northeast Ohio since 2009. That's a lot for a mid-level band who's core show audience is too stuck in the past.

From what you are seeing is there just not much of a Cleveland market anymore? The Bayside and TBS tours have been discussed, but is it a more wide-scale problem that you know of? I know Columbus and Cinci get a lot of shows because they are easier to route, but could it be they are just better markets over the years?

As someone who lives in Cleveland and goes to shows often, I've noticed over the last 5 or so years that not as many shows come here. Maybe bands/artists are looking to play areas with more college kids around - Obviously OSU is in Columbus so more bands/artists opt to play there, perhaps. Same with Cincinnati, Very strong college presence.

I've said for years, I think the House of Blues may have turned off acts from coming here. I remember when the Agora Theatre was kind of the main venue around here and it used to get great acts consistently then House of Blues opened and Agora stopped having shows (for a while I think). To me personally, that's when I started to kind of notice the shift.

I personally don't really care for the HOB in Cleveland, but it's where most of the shows come, so I'm kind of stuck going there a lot.

Speaking of colleges, Wolstein Center in Cleveland is all of a sudden getting some pretty good shows. I haven't seen a show there since 2005 (prior to that, I had seen like 10), and my next three concerts will be there (Brand New, PATD and Lumineers).

I am with you. I remember when Agora Theater or Ballroom, along with the Odeon kind of were the main larger venues to play. Every now and then the Masonic Temple would put something like they do today. While I don't love everything about HOB, I thought it was a good move at the time. Agora was trending down with it's ownership and Odeon was booking less shows. Eventually the Peabody's group bought the Agora and the Ballroom is basically Peabody's now and the Theater books larger shows again. The Odeon is back, but doesn't book a lot of stuff and when they do it's all nostalgia acts that I am not really interested in.

I definitely think HOB coming here really clamped down the market for certain bands as it was a monopoly of sorts. However, I think HOB was overall good about getting shows in here and is a probably a net positive. I wonder now if there are just too many venues and we are getting spread thin a bit. Grog and Beachland are constantly booking events as well, and I wonder if all of the competition is causing venues to book whatever they can to make sure they have something and it's just causing booking problems for potentially better events.

Was it The Lumineers announcement? They announced that late yesterday.

Yeah, there are a lot of venues around here. Musica in Akron has booked some solid shows as well, although I haven't been there in a few years. Beachland is my personal favorite venue around here. Grog is cool, but it's a nightmare to get in and out of there just because it's not really close to any freeways.

Maybe you're right, just too much competition.

No it was in response to someone tweeting about that show, more than likely nothing crazy but still
