Doesn't feel a thing like falling and You Got Me are the worst songs in this band's career imo *Ducks and hides*
Listening through Tidal Wave again right now, and yeah, this is definitely their most cohesive and overall best record since WYWTB. The build up at the end of “I Felt It Too” is stellar.
Did I miss a Top 5 TBS songs ranking over the weekend? I'd have to think about 4 and 5 but The Union, Your Own Disaster and Slowdance are definitely cemented in as my Top 3.
Listened to new again and louder now on a long drive yesterday. Would’ve added more but the copilot isn’t a fan. Still, those are wonderful summer driving records. I say that as someone who hates album covers of cars on desert roads (see: TBS, Hawthorne, etc etc etc etc etc) lolz
I am not as big into TBS as I once was but I always found their albums to be great for driving and running.
so "Winter Passing" is a fuckin' great jam that I had no idea existed until a few days ago. Did they just not finish it in time to make New Again or what?
IIRC, it was a case of them thinking it didn't fit with the rest of the album. I wish they had kept it on there.
yeah that's a shame, I found it fit perfectly between "Catholic Knees" and "Carpathia" when I subbed it in there on a playlist. it's equally awesome that they made a lyrical trilogy with "Winter", "Didn't See That Coming" and "Cut Me Up Jenny" and frustrating that the worst of those three by far was the only one that made the album!
Listening to Live From Orensanz. The way Adam brought A Decade Under the Influence down to a lower range brings new life to the song and it rules.
