Now I Know This World Isn’t Spinning Just For Me Prestigious

Louder Now does have Spin and Error:Operator though

MakeDamnSure floored me when I first heard it back in 2008, it was my first TBS song in fact.

If I had to rank TBS albums, I'd go:

    1) Where you want to be
    2) Tell All Your Friends
    3) Louder Now
    4) Tidal Wave
    5) Happiness Is
    6) New Again

    7) Self Titled.

WYWTB and TAYF could be flip flopped depending on which day it is. TAYF was essentially the anthem for my senior year of high school so I have fond memories of that record but WYWTB is just way better in production and musically.

It's really amazing how many different opinions people have on this band, it's also interesting to see how many people didn't start listening to TBS until the late 2000s seeing as the height of their popularity was the 2003-2006 range.

I started listening to this band maybe two weeks after tell all your friends was released? Idk I consider them my gateway into emo so they mean a lot to me.. whether you consider tayf emo or not (emo thread would roast me)

I remember when WYWTB was coming out and Adam was interviewed on CNN, and then Louder Now came out and put them in a even bigger stage.

I specifically remember that as well...I think they were interviewed the week after it came out because it debuted at No. 2 or 3 on the charts and sold over 150K in its first week, which was insane for a band not on a major label (at the time).

Wasn't he wearing some creepy Freddy Kruger like sweater or something?

Yeah, TAYF came out when I was a senior and a bunch of my friends had it and I didn't care for it at first. I thought it was really raw and didn't sound that great. Then one day I just got hooked and my musical tastes pretty much changed after that.

Haha, I think the reason I remember that so well is because it's the ONLY time I've ever seen a band or artist on CNN.

I've tried a few more times to get into it, but I still haven't been able to. Only a handful on songs I listen to.

The acoustic version of Makedamnsure from their live cd/dvd is my go to for that song. Sooooo good.

The live studio version if by far my favorite.

I didn't know they had a live studio version. I have their Live from Bamboozle '09 album and they sound really good there.

My ranking right now: WWYTB > TAYF/LN (depending on mood) > HI > ST (really only half of it) > TW/NA (undecided)

I actually find TBS has surprisingly few songs that "floor me" from start to finish, for a band that I like so much. LN's pretty consistently great, and the only total miss in my opinion is "Divine Intervention." The album's got some incredible wow moments, too (e.g., the bridge of "What's It Feel Like" and the outro of "Miami").

I could be wrong, but I don't think the MDS demo leaked with those. If it did then I don't have it

    Regular

    1. Tidal Wave
    2. Happiness Is
    3. Self Titled
    4. New Again
    5. Louder Now / WYWTB
(These two change back and forth a lot. In general, I like Louder Now more, though)
    6. WYWTB / Louder Now
    7. Tell All Your Friends

My favorites change all the time, but this is what I think the order is from best to slightly less than best.

    1. Where You Want to Be (My intro to the band)
    2. Louder Now
    3. TAYF
    4. Tidal Wave (I can see this going up but I'm trying to avoid recency bias)
    5. Happiness Is
    6. New Again
    7. Self titled

The bottom half of my list consists of those albums mainly because, as a whole, they didn't hit me quite the same as the top half. I still enjoy plenty of songs off those three albums though
