not saying anyone needs to discuss anything with them haha i just think calling them a troll for not liking the band/album is absurd
I haven't seen much of this in this thread though. Maybe one person that loved all their albums. I think pretty much everybody here, myself included, can find many flaws in their discography.
i dont specifically mean that exact phrase but a simple "this album is good" is as useless as "this album is garbage." for the record, im saying theres not a problem with either, not that theres a problem with both
the acoustic (more like piano) version of "holy water" is cool. the outtakes bit at the end is pretty funny too!
coming into this thread late (forgot i didn't subscribe to it) but i really fuckin love this record. more than i thought i would. i liked a few tracks on Happiness Is but don't ever really feel the urge to listen to it front-to-back. this one is just so entertaining (or whatever) track after track. i just love All Excess anyone get this on vinyl? Discogs shows a Turquoise Swirl variant and i'm not sure whether that's actually the Turquoise/CokeBottleClear Aside/Bside in the Hopeless Rec store or something else all i know is i want it
When singing along in my car, I usually take on lead parts, but in that song, John's parts are just so much more fun.
Agreed. Some might think it's boring because it's essentially repeating what Adam sang, but his delivery is just perfect there. I wasn't that into "All Excess" on my first listen, but it's quickly become one of my favorites.
Just got around to listening to the acoustic bonus tracks. Pretty bland/boring. But then again, I've never been a huge fan of TBS acoustic material.
1. Louder Now 2. Tell All Your Friends 3. Where You Want To Be 4. Tidal Wave 5. S/T 6. HI.... 7. New Again Current. Though 2-6 rotate all the time depending on my mood. Only NA song I really return to is EMG, occasionally the title track, lonely and catholic knees to a far lesser extent so it gets bottom. LN gets 1 because it came out at a time in my life that it was a big part of, so I have emotional attachments to a lot of the songs (Spin, Error, MDS, ghost and more)
Just got back from their show tonight. Gotta say @sophos34 (pretty sure it was him) nailed it in earlier posts about the crowd reaction. The group around me was a greatest hits crowd and were taking bets on the opener. I was just thinking if they only knew what they were in for... Overall it was a pretty weird experience. The crowd was fine for the first three songs because TW and Can't Look Back have been played previously and or officially released before the album dropped. DW didn't really move the needle. The middle of the record where it ebs and flows lost the crowd. They came back in moments and did well for Homecoming, I suppose. The crowd was definitely drained and overall confused. Idk it was definitely different, but it should have been advertised in advanced.
Exactly this. The crowd was dead at the show I went to, and I could hear everyone talking over them playing.
