its so strange how New Again was so critically acclaimed yet so hated by the fans. Its also strange how much the fans opinion on that album has affected the bands perception of it.

Like, the Sputnik review gave it a 5/5 even though thats still one of the most confusing reviews I've ever read, and AltPress and Kerrang gave it pretty glowing reviews also. Glad its getting some love later on in life. It holds up real well.

Kerrang gives literally every album a good review. I have no interest in publications that are afraid to dislike things

 

Got home from vacation to my preorder. I got one of the signed booklets!

 

The AP.net review of New Again was a disgrace.

Anyway the worst song on there is Capital ME and even that's still fun. Love Swing, Where My Mouth Is, Catholic Knees, and Carpathia. Sink Into Me is really fun, love the strings on the chorus.

The best closer is Call Me In The Morning, worst is probably I'll Let You Live, then Head Club

Reviews are dumb. Listen for yourself and make your own decisions. New Again is a great album.

 

I'm listening to New Again for the first time in years and it holds up really well. Probably enjoying it more now than I ever have.

haven't listened to new again in ages, but i remember loving "cut me up jenny" and everyone hating that song and saying it was the worst thing they've ever written, haha. i'll have to revisit this one now, curious to how i'll feel about it after literally not listening to it since before the last 3 albums came out.

 

Don't know sales numbers, but it debuted at #36 on the Billboard 200.

Oh boy, Finally listened to TD during the weekend. The new album is garbage, just like pretty much 90% oF their catalogue. I'm really shocked why people love Tidal Wave. It's a generic as Fuck rock record, which has already been Forgotten.

They have a great catalogue. If they ever did a greatest hits (or if GHs are still a thing) it would be an awesome album.

 

Speaking of singles, I noticed This Photograph is Proof is never played live. I guess the band doesn't like it? I like the song a lot, has a cool vibe to it.
