Which lets be real reads kind of bad but I'm almost certain Adam didn't mean it the way it comes across
I definitely read that as being directed towards Fred. Either way, yeah, it's a pretty groan worthy lyric
oh.......I have no idea how the hell I mixed up Chorus and Verses. How do I computer? But yeah, I never thought the lyrics were great lol. Still find the song a lot of fun and love the bass lines.
Yes. That song is real heavy and aggressive for a TBS song and that bridge is straight out of a Glassjaw track
Sink Into Me is by far my least favorite on new again. Lol remember in alt press review when Scott referred to that song as a "Brand New TDAG leftover" like have you heard TDAG
Oh yeah a lot of it is. Chauntelle Dupree and Fred definitely took the brunt of those lyrical lashings
When New Again was first released I thought it was a shit show, I go back to it nowadays and really enjoy Swing, Summer, Man, Cut Me Up Jenny, Carpathia & Where My Mouth Is.
"Swing", "Summer, Man", "Carpathia" and "Everything Must Go" are all great songs. I've always found "Where My Mouth Is" to be kind of dull though.
besides "Jenny," which I kind of pretend doesn't exist, I think "Capital ME" is the worst. Cut those two and that disc is pure gold
i find it so strange that people hate "capital me" which i think is like kinda the best tbs power-pop song
yeah I felt kind of dumb saying that actually hahah but idk I guess it's because that song is so clearly about Fred
I think if you replace "Where My Mouth Is", "Cut Me Up Jenny" & "Capital ME" with the three b-sides from New Again, you'd get a pretty spectacular album.
new again definitely aged well. carpathia, summer, lonely lonely, jenny, sink into me, swing and everything must go are the standouts for me. would love to see them play around with that sound they found on carpathia again but with fazii and rubano gone i doubt that will ever happen. i also find it very funny that sink into me is their second biggest radio hit and the record was so well received critically, considering it's commercial performance and how poorly it was received online.
I always thought this lyric in Carpathia was weird: I was a tower and you were an airplane We happened before we knew what was happening comparing a relationship ending to 9/11? I don't get offended, I just wonder why he thought it was a good metaphor.
I love Sink Into Me, I just don't bring it up here because everyone hates it. I remember seeing it live while touring with Anberlin and members from the band came out to do the "hey"s and claps, pretty awesome.
