I listened to the self-titled the other day and liked it more than I remembered but I still think it's their worst and that the drum production is distractingly bad.
what is it that everyone loves about emg? that seems like most peoples favorite tbs song and ive always thought it was good but not even one of the best on new again
its the only song on new again thats even remotely good. the lyrics are great, the songwriting is great, its a big epic emotional moment to close the album what more do you want lol
everything must go is great but i don't think it tops slowdance. i mean, that's probably top 5 classic tbs moments up there with the 180 ending and the bridge/outro of cute. call me in the morning is fucking fantastic too. the only bad tbs closer is headclub. only cause the drum intro is shiiiiiiiit
Yeah, I think Everything Must Go is their best closer. I'll Find A Way might surpass it. This band sure does closers right though haha.
It's so much fun listening to the guitars on In the Middle of It All. Also, EMG is my favorite closer with Slowdance and Call Me In the Morning a close second and third
I agree. I personally think EMG is their most overrated song. Adam's high notes on the song are absolutely cringeworthy, epsecially at the end. If I were to rank album closers I'd go: 1) Slowdance 2) Call me in the Morning 3) I'll Let You Live 4) Nothing At All 5) Head Club 6) I'll Find a Way 7) EMG
7 years on and EMG is really the only song that sticks with me from New Again. Yeah, Sink Into Me, New Again, and Where My Mouth Is are okay songs/the only other standouts on the record, but EMG is really the only song from the record that I'd say stands out in their whole discog. Still blown away by this record. Didn't know they still had it in them.
EMG is really the only NA song that makes my playlists anymore, and I actually didn't hate that album. The emotion In that song just gets me
Summer Man, Lonely Lonely, Swing and EMG are the four songs I love on there. The verses to New Again are perhaps the worst Adam has written IMO.
I am ready to be new again? That's not too bad and fits the theme of the album. I'm sure there is worst in their discography.
