Drums on this sound fine I guess This is probably my favorite front to back TBS album since NA. Great band. Great album
There's always 2-3 tracks I don't like on every TBS album, but I still really enjoy Tidal Wave overall.
i think last time i saw them we got you got me, faith, and call me in the morning. would love to see faith get cut and this is all now or call me in the morning take it's place as the S/T song of the set.
Looks like they aren't playing anything from S/T live on this tour. I saw them play Call Me in the Morning the last two times I saw them (2014 and 2015). When I saw them in 2015, Adam said Call me in the Morning was his favorite TBS song. Their reunion tour (before they did the TAYF 10 year tour) they played This is All Now a lot. Saw it in 2011 and Adam walked around the crowd when he sang it.
Eventhough I was underwelmed by the S/T, I've always enjoyed it. Who are you anyway, you got me, this is all now, it doesn't feel a thing. All great songs. I've always thought Faith was a good jam too.
The self titled bsides would have made self titled as good as tidal wave for me. As it is I'm not a big fan of el paso/money/this is all now, even though it's TBS, it's hard to say "I don't like this song" lol. But Call Me, Faith, Best Places , you got me, I mean these are classic tbs songs. It's a great record. Tidal Wave and Death Wolf, not big fan of, but again, can't say I don't like the songs completely. But honestly..., Tayf, Wywtb, New Again, Self Titled, Oresanz, Happiness Is, Tidal Wave.... you can tell it's all the same lyricist and the progression is great, the musicianship is great.I enjoy the hell out of the drums, not hearing the issues here. Definitely love this band and this album is either tied with Painkillers or beats Painkillers as my album of the year.
I like the self titled. El Paso, This is All now, Best places, call me, doesn't feel a thing like falling. All gems
I think that album is half great and that's definitely at the top. That and This Is All Now would be on any TBS list I made for sure.
eh i feel like "money," "falling," and "since you're gone" are weirdly miscalculated (oddly i think what they were going for on "since you're gone" is kinda perfected on tidal wave, particularly on "fences" and "we don't go in there") and feel unfinished. a chorus as good as "who are you"s deserved better verses. etc. i'm not as 100 percent about the demos as everyone is but if like, "you were right" were on the album it'd be 100000 times better
This probably belongs in the unpopular opinions thread but I would take all 4 of those songs over anything on Tidal Wave. "It Doesn't Feel A Thing Like Falling" in particular is one of my favourite TBS songs.
This Is All Now has a fucking dope bridge. John screaming "REPENT, REPENT" is one of my favorite moments in any TBS song. But El Paso is the best on S/T. Oh and btw havent posted this in a few days but, I Felt It Too
Yeah, S/T is a criminally underrated album. This Is All Now and Best Places To Be A Mom are some all time great TBS songs.
I love the S/T. Faith might be my least favorite on there but I won't skip it like I will the song Tidal Wave.
