Haha, that's actually one of my favorite moments when they start trading off those lyrics at the end. It's such a fun time. But, yeah, I absolutely love the chorus of this song.
Mailman called me. My package had been delivered to the wrong address, supposedly according to him. It is now in my mailbox
Yes, I should Tell all my friends. Especially now that I can SPIN the record in my BEAT UP CAR...it's really the BEST PLACE TO BE A (cd)
Well Happines is... Making puns. I mean IT TAKES MORE that that to be a pun, heck anyone with BETTER HOMES AND GARDENS can make a pun. You have to have wit to make sure you don't FLICKER,FADE....hahaha sorry I never STOOD A CHANCE.
He isn't featured much anymore, but I think he's more prominent here than other the two other reunion records. He's got the pre-chorus bits on "Death Wolf", start of the 2nd verse on "Tidal Wave", a few parts on "You Can't Look Back", that whole ending part on "Call Come Running", and his parts on "Holy Water". There's more there, but those are some standouts.
I hear MGMT's Kids every time I listen to I'll Find a Way to Make It What You Want "Control yourself/Take only what you need from it" "Exercise your self control/Take only what you think you need"
Yeah, there's some good John vocals here, but I think there could have been more. His parts on "Holy Water" are pretty great, but I think he should have been given the second verse of that song, or at least the first half of the second verse. There are also a few spots on the album where you can hear Adam's vocals are layered but that I think would have sounded better with John harmonizing. But I'm just nitpicking, I really enjoy this.
In The Middle of it All riff sounds so much like that one The Academy Is... song off Santi. Edit: "Same Blood"
Just went to read the lyrics for the closing track and get this: The liner notes in the CD version of Tidal Wave has the first 3 songs printed on the first and last page (in place of what should be a page with "We Don't Go", "Homecoming", "I'll Find...") . So basically I don't have the lyrics for the last 3 songs. Weird, I've seen plenty of typos in liner notes but never a mistake like this.
Cool thanks! I'll go there to learn more. Glad this wasn't a misprint in a Brand New album, would have taken years to get it sent to me. EDIT: Good news I already got a reply and they are shipping it out soon. They promised they would find a way to make it what I want. Not really but glad they are sending me a corrected booklet.
Sorry thought I posted here, the day it was released the band got back to me on instagram and said hopeless would replace the book. Just go to the site, email them, they replied back quickly.
Love how that song sounds like it'll go into a typical loud TBS chorus and then it slows down into that chorus instead.
"Holy Water" is probably my least favorite track, but I still enjoy it actually. The vocals aren't that great, but I'm used to it at this point. Besides, he makes up for it throughout the rest of the album.
