I know that this isn't popular opinion, but I have trouble finding interest in Call Come Running - Holy Water - In The Middle of it All. I just find them..... kinda straightforward and not memorable at this point for me
At first I thought Call Come Running had a cheesy chorus but I was able to get past that. The versus are strong and the last minute is very, very good, imo. Holy Water, to me, so far is the most overrated song on the album. It's OK, but nowhere near as good as people are making it out to be. I'm totally fine with In the Middle of it All.
What do people think of "All Excess"? I really love the song, but I was just interested in what others thought.
For sure. Personally, I'd prefer never to listen to music that doesn't give me a bona fide reason to get to the end of the song. Amen to climaxes!
The Chorus from this is *straight* out of Where You Want To Be-era. I dont like the cheesy "ah yeah, ah yeah, awwwrllrighhtt, I felt dirty and I didnt know why".
Amazing. It's one of my favorites along with "You Can't Look Back" and "Fences". Although every song on the album has been my favorite at one point or another. It just depends on my mood. The 4 strong stretch from "You Can't Look Back" to "I Felt It Too" is amazing. What a great set of songs. It's like a beautiful mini album in and of itself. Does anyone love the title track as much as I do? It's the perfect punk length and feel. The chorus is just catchy enough. My favorite thing is the lyrics. They really resonate with me. "Can you buy back any of the soul you sold / When your will is weak and the weight is strong / Where will you go when you can't go on" "When the guns are drawn outside your door / Will you call for peace or will you join the war"
i always like hearing your opinion on this band because i know you at least like everything theyve done, much like me haha. i think im comfortable putting this band in my top 5 bands of all time. Just as far as sheer scope of catalog that I enjoy, which is basically every song, and just a band I gravitate to a lot.
