I think they are playing the new record on the whole tour which is really cool. I tweeted them something about it and they responded with a thumbs up
This album is so good that I've barely listened to the new Against Me. I think I've finally realized that Taking Back Sunday is one of my favorite bands. Hard to pick highlights on this but right now I really like "All Excess" "I Felt It Too" "I'l Find A Way To Make It What You Want" but that keeps changing. I think "You Can't Look Back" is one of my favorites too but I played the crap out of it leading up to the release so I'm more excited about the other songs. I get what people are saying about the vocals in "Holy Water" and it was a bit jarring my first listen but it has really grown on me.
I was ready to write this band off, but this record really changed my whole mindset on the band. Tayf and wywtb are two of my favorites and I really like louder now and happiness is. I was even a huge fan of self Titled when it came out. But this is the first record since the first two that I could see myself constantly coming back to
I wish I could say the same. I am a huge longtime fan, but while I like this album, after 3 times through I'm ranking it at the bottom above only New Again. It has some standouts and some songs I think sound good. But the only ones that truly seem to stick in my head are Death Wolf, Tidal Wave, Can't look back, and Call Come Running. Aside from those, I find myself listening to it and wanting to jump back to HI, S/t, and LN more. I am really hoping this changes, TBS is my favorite band behind only Blink-182 so I really want to love this album, I'm going to spin the record for the next two days and see.
For me it only got better with more listens but yea I also could see long time fans not liking this. It definitely stands out as being the most different record they have written
Watching a few live videos from this weekend. You can tell Adam is so much more comfortable with these songs, he actually sounds great live on them
I mean it has a little for me, and fences , holy water, and we don't go in there are growing on me. I think this will be a slow grower, but I don't hate it.
I remember Adam and Geoff Rickly did a video chat before a tour together and they talked about different bands. Adam said how he loved when he went to see Sunny Day Real Estate after the reunited and at the show the didn't play any old material and just played their yet to be released album at the time. He felt admiration for a band to have the guts to play unknown material especially when they had such a beloved back catalog.
Eddie's infant daughter had a medical emergency right before the tour so he is at home for a little bit. Noticed it immediately last night and Adam addressed it about halfway through the Tidal Wave set. He should be back on tour soon
First reaction: this is the first time in their careeer they've released two consecutive albums that don't have garbage tones. Really digging the production choices on this one.
Friday morning it said the delivery would be here Tuesday. I don't know what happened but I'm not complaining
okay someone find the tweets where they berated kanye for using autotune because the bridge of "in the middle of it all" does not make effective use of it as far as i can tell
i'll bet any amount of money this band's engineers have been using autotune on adam's voice since at least louder now
