im continuously confused about the complaints of adams voice on "holy water." he sounds no worse than he does on every other song they've ever written.
This album is fire. Seriously, I haven't skipped a song once yet...I find it incredibly creative, consistent, full of energy and passion and easily their best work since TAYF. Standouts are way too many to list, Fences, Holy Water, YCLB, Death Wolf, Homecoming...hell, every song. Amazing effort.
Two full listens of the album and I can def say I like it. We Don't Go In There is still my favorite. I'm having trouble getting into the last two tracks, some more listens are needed I suppose. Also, even though it's not political, the chorus to We Don't Go In There is a perfect summation of the Donald J. Trump campaign heh.
Strange seeing this much love for TBS on chorus. Haha, album is fantastic, pretty much on repeat for me
So I started listening today, longtime fan (even somewhat enjoyed new again). Been through the album twice and I like it, but I think I'll need to spin it more to truly appreciate a lot of these songs. So far stand outs to me are death wolf, tidal wave, can't look back, we don't go in there, and call come running. I think it might be the sound change but the album isn't popping at me as instantly as their previous songs have. A few more spins to adapt to the new sound are needed I believe. (Again not knocking the album I do like it)
Having listened to this a few times, I think this albums instrumentation is better than Happiness, but Happiness had better lyric and vocal melodies, with a couple exceptions.
The lyrics are reeaalllyy bland on here, I think that's part of the reason this is such a tough album for me.
Didn't have a chance to listen to this until last night, but so far I'm loving everything about it. I like all the TBS albums, but this from Fences on is another level.
Thank you, now I know why this album is just not clicking with me. I literally found myself cringing at some of the lyrics...
I thought they were doing longer set lists on this tour, also. Last nights set seems kind of short....although wasn't it a festival show?
They went on at around 11:20 PM, played till like 12:45. They'll be going on earlier for the rest of the tour so I anticipate the set will be much longer.
Looking back at their non festival shows on setlist, 21-23 is what they play normally. So when they say longer setlist..... This makes sense. Plus I looked at it. The official small club longer set tour doesn't really start until tonight
I feel like im the only one here who doesnt love this, but while i dont think its the worst stuff theyve put out, theres nothing really stand out about it either. All the songs kind of just blend together. A lot of the tones, distortion, and sounds are all similar song to song and Adam is just straining his voice the entire time. I'll give it more listens, but I can't imagine this will be a lasting record for me
