Is anyone having trouble listening to it on Spotify? It's only playing the first 10-15 seconds before stopping.
I was having this issue too. I just closed out of Spotify and reopened it and now everything plays fine.
It should've been called "Ass N' Arrow (Git Gud)". (I like the song though) Edit: Does anyone know what he actually sings after the first chorus. 'Cause I seriously hear "Git gud"
My fault yall, I've been streaming it since 2am on Spotify lol. My store probably won't have it if we do I'll buy it at 9. Ill probably have to go to best buy on lunch.
Theres a distinctly 80s feel to the Fences verses the. Completely 90s chorus. Holy Water is really growing on me. After 5 spins I've stuck on the new Against Me! Album which I also highly recommend. It feels like they finally achieved what they were trying on White Crosses. Just don't expect a TDB part 2.
I REALLY need to read the full oral history of tbs from AP 276 June 2011. Does anyone have it? or know where I can find it or order the issue?
I think this album is so good. It's so mature and I feel like its hitting me at the right time in my life. I've grown with this band and I don't know I just feel like this is a very "adult" album, if that makes sense! Just a solid album all the way through. Holy water is overly produced though, that song could have been one of their best if they kept it more raw sounding. I'm a happy consumer though
i'd really like to see how people outside of this thread react to this album. i hope they do a post on the main page.
I also love how synth-heavy this album is. I think they tried to build off of "all the way," which is a banger of a song. A move in the right direction.
I enjoyed Tidal Wave more on the first listen than I did the S/T or Happiness. Neither of those albums really stuck for me, but I do go back to them from time to time. Definitely liking the new direction they took their music. TW doesn't really blow me away, but it's certainly something I can see myself buying/listening to for the next few months. Early standouts... Death Wolf, You Can't Look Back, All Excess, Holy Water, Homecoming.
weird, I'm listening on google music and that's not the way it is. that version of the track is probably not supposed to be there. I've seen it happen before on spotify.
I waited until this morning to listen to this album in full. I am blown away. Everything I have wanted from them for years. So happy and excited and proud of them.
He does for the music video.... Did that version get uploaded on accident? It's not like that on the album.
This is definitely growing on me. "Death Wolf" is probably my favorite. I love the way the first three songs flow together in the context of the album. "Call Come Running" and "Holy Water" are some other highlights. I'm seeing a lot of love here for "Fences" and "All Excess" which kind of surprises me, those two along with "In The Middle Of It All" are my least favorite.
Notable musical improvement. "Fences", "All Excess", "In the Middle Of It All" and "We Don't Go In There" are standouts for me. I know this is trite but I really wish John would sing more of the main drags. It would elevate this band.
