yeah i remember that. i think it was playing in the background at one point lol. I'm really loving this so far. More than Happiness Is and the S/T, and I really like those albums.
Did Nathan contribute to this album? Because I swear there are moments where 3 guitars are playing, or two guitars and some piano. I guess it could just be John doing them both.
I wasn't the biggest fan of Tidal Wave but I really enjoyed listening to it after Death Wolf. Great placement. This album is a perfect follow up to Happiness Is
I've only listened all the way through once, but yeah, I really enjoyed my first listen. Need a few more times through before I can start ironing out thoughts and comparisons, though.
but it's hair splitting, adam goes up where henley goes down, there are more syllables in adam's verses, etc. if you hear it i get it, but also i have to work hard to hear it
Idk I heard it involuntarily I didn't even have to think more than two seconds about what it was reminding me of
the bridge from "i felt it too," which i posted a few pages back, and also "i saw nothing but rain for days / still i wasn't ready for the flood" from "fences"
Is this on Spotify at midnight? No Apple exclusive or something? I don't want to wait til I buy the cd tomorrow, I'm too hyped from this thread lol.
Heard one of the singles and didn't love it but I'm surprised at how much I'm enjoying the full record on first listen.
This album is making me sad. This might be the one where they completely lose me as a self-proclaimed fan. All this melds together and just feels boring. "I felt it too", "We Dont Go In There", "Homecoming", "Make It What You Want", stand out a little. I liked probably 25-50% of ST and Happiness is..., but...this just feels like all filler/uninspired. Maybe I'm just over this band. I'm a huge fan of TAYF, WYWTB, LN(especially the demo version of this album and bsides), and I thought the albums after those had some sparks of inspiration/the sound I want them to go for.....but.....this, I just feel like I'm forcing myself to keep giving it tries. This closer is very weak compared to their past ones also. I think with this album they've fully transitioned into this new sound they've been going for, for a few albums.
Just finished my first listen, not loving it. It's decent but it just hasn't left the same kind of impression as the previous six TBS albums have for me on first listen. Definitely giving it several more spins though.
