Yeah, it really is wild how CD's are being phased out. This might be a bit absurd, but it's probably a good thing. Less waste and paper and materials in the world, I guess.
also i don't feel AS bad with listening to a leak with this band considering i've seen them over 35 times and own every one of their albums on various mediums (vinyl, cd, etc). 100% plan on purchasing tmrw.
few things i've noticed halfway through the first listen: 1. the song "tidal wave" in no way shape or form is a fair representation of this album. 2. this is still tbs, but without a doubt a brand new direction for them. (in a good way, it sounds very natural) 3. this sounds like the record this band has wanted to make for awhile, considering adam's solo song and most of john's solo work. 4. john is all over this album vocally. enjoy it.
yeah, this is exactly where they should be as a band. feels like the record they always wanted to write
the songs on here i felt unsure about at first are now monster jams to me ("all excess") DROWN DROWN OUT THE BEST PARTS
the closer is also simultaneously restrained and massive. imo their best closer since..... "everything must go"?
i mean maybe it's just cause i'm older. the slow, americana, acoustic songs...i'm obsessed. homecoming is amazing.
i felt so small still i couldn't look away and i had nothing to say i sank into myself, oh i lost my place and i hope you didn't notice
There is a record store in my town that sells albums 5 days before their official release, although with the album dates now on Fridays, I doubt they still do that. When albums were released on Tuesdays, they'd always get the album the Friday before. I spent 10+ years going there every Friday to get albums 5 days before their release and I felt so bad ass doing so, haha. I haven't bothered to ask them how early (of if they even get them early anymore) they get them since the release date change.
Happy to see positive opinions for this. Gonna wait until tomorrow to listen. I've liked all their albums so this seems like it's going to be a winner.
