Second part of the chorus. Also some high stuff in the second single. Oh and better homes and garden had a high chorus and a lot of songs on happiness is did too.
I appreciate a lot more from New Again than I used to. Live at Orsanz or however you spell it was great too
True. I don't know, his style of singing has certainly changed with each album or two. Maybe it's natural as he's gotten older, but I really do miss how he sounded on Louder Now. He just doesn't sound as crisp.
It's natural in that he hasn't given up his smoking habit and has completely destroyed his voice over the years. That's pretty much why he sounds so shitty. Listening to Danny Andriano pre giving up smoking and post giving up smoking is crazy. Also, I highly enjoy Error: Operator. Repetitive chorus doesn't bother me much because Fred's harmonizing sounds so nice.
I can't believe this hasn't been streamed/leaked yet. I am hoping to get to know all of the new songs before the show on Friday night.
I think youre right. As a smoker trying to give up and a singer i can say it 100% messes with your vocals big time. If i behave myself in a week i can sing. If i have a particularly bad weekend my voice will be screwed for at least 3 days. That said i think adam als controls his voice more on the last few records than he did in the early days. I really dont think itd work if we had tayf or wywtb adam singing over these new tracks.
Spin is one of the best Louder Now tracks for sure. The amount of people that didn't mention that song is criminal! Seeing them in that era, that song was so awesome to see played live!
I haven't listened to "Death Wolf" yet, but I've always loved the drum production on Happiness is... They did some really cool stuff with the drums on that one.
he never really had great range. he would go well out of it on some of the older songs, probably put a huge strain on his voice for awhile. i think he's much more comfortable singing things from New Again to Tidal Wave. i personally prefer it. sounds a lot better live.
I love the progression the band has made. My favorite songs off louder now and new again were my blue heaven, everything must go, aND happiness is was very much like those tracks, more so than tayf.
I think Can't Look Back is the best single so far. Really hard to not hear Boys Of Summer but it's still really freaking good. Tidal Wave is enjoyable and I don't think I gave the Death Wolf song the right listen (windows down cause I have no AC flying on the parkway with a youtube rip) it was hard to tell if the song was good. But overall since I grew up with this band it's not to hear them change and grow their sound and lyrics.
Error Operator would have been better if it got away from the v/c/v/c/b/c formula that plagues all of Louder Now.
Yeah they should have kept the old bridge in the album version, IMO. The guitar solo is pretty sweet either way though.
I think this is LNs biggest issue. We got so used to TBSs old style of basically slamming two songs together, or building all the way to a massive climax, and eschewing the standard song structures. Then they started doing it and it was just such a shock for many fans
