"Taking Back Sunday has created an album that can and will stand alongside Tom Petty’s Wildflowersand Bruce Springsteen’s Born in the USA as albums that perfectly capture the relentless enthusiasm of the human spirit. It’s the realization of what the group has been working toward for the better part of two decades, and it marks an ever-so-slight pivot in sound that should help the band to engage a larger share of the modern rock audience than their previous albums." "I believe Tidal Wave is the album Taking Back Sunday was put on this Earth to make" Wow. This better be great! haha
I probably would have waited, but I'm going to the show on Saturday and if they are in fact playing Tidal Wave in full, then I need to learn the lyrics to these songs as soon as I get my hands on them! haha
Man, without a doubt was this overhyped. I enjoyed it, but out of the three songs released so far, this is easily my least favorite one. Wish I never saw the hype for this track. EDIT: I'm 100% sure it'll grow on me.
Glad everyone seems to like it but I cannot get into any of these songs. This album will just most likely be a miss for me - which is a shame because I liked Happiness Is a lot. I will still listen and am going in with an open mind. Early listeners - if I haven't liked any of the three songs released..do you expect I will like the album? Also, this definitely seemed over-hyped. I kept waiting for it to pick up but it really fell flat...
Real overhyped but yeah it's a good song. Real good matter of fact. The bridge-outro is great, has a bit of that TAYF/WYWTB feel to it and John is super prominent here which is nice.
After listening to Death Wolf once, I'm pretty underwhelmed. Especially considering how much everyone has been talking it up.
