The difference with those bands is that for the most part they havnt led their fans on the entire way. They've been talking about getting their next album out since the press cycle for daisy. They said at that time that it wouldnt be nearly the wait it was from TDAG. Then they said in interviews that they were hoping to have it out by the end of 2012 and gave reason to believe it would happen each year following for the next 4

I get what everyone is saying about fan entitlement, but in a lot of ways brand new have brought it on themselves

Exactly. I never said nor am I entitled to a New Brand New album, but it's kind of ridicolous to keep going back on what you said. Just don't say anything at all or just give us small studio updates every now and then if you don't want to remain silent. It just sucks because with them re-releasing all of this music this year got me excited that it was finally happening, and that hype train has already been derailed from the way things are looking for the rest of the year.

sick of hearing about 'fan entitlement' yeah it's lame to insult jesse lacey's character for taking a long time to put out the album but if people want to be excited and impatient for shit let them be

 

if you were a real fan of the band you wouldn't be impatient and demand they put out music when they don't want to. Brand New fans are lucky there's even a 5th LP, most bands with shitty fans would've just called it a day.

 

I'm happy to wait. It'll probably be worth it.

It's a Russian social media site, but it's notorious with leaking music, in particular music from Hopeless and Fearless records. It leaked the last few YC, NFG, and TBS releases as well as some other stuff

 

Their marketing team sure is hopeless HAAAAAAAAAAAAsorry.
