Taking Back Sunday and Steve Aoki Team Up

Whenever I see a band I like has collab'd with Steve Aoki I always seem to think it'll be something I won't like. Dunno, his personal style doesn't seem to really do much for me. However, I kinda dig this song. I probably won't add it to any playlist, but I can't say I didn't enjoy it.

 

As a teen I absolutely loved tbs. I thought happiness is was up there with louder now. But something about Adam’s vocals/delivery on songs that don’t have a catchy hook just doesn’t work for me anymore. I thought it was simply the vocals but it’s not it’s the lack of a good hook. It’s the songwriting. They don’t have it anymore. Reminds me of Mark and Tom. Hard to listen to. Then they write something good and I’m like “they sound amazing!” Mark -lighthouse. I actually like this a lot. Every time I hear the Blink song with Steve Aoki, I wish they had also released a version with just the band, but I don't think I need a TBS-only version of this. Sounds great as is.

I know what you mean. I hear Adam on other tracks like "Loved You A Little" with The Maine and Charlotte Sands, and he sounds like classic Adam. But TBS's songs are so lackluster.

my 4 year old son loves the song, he goes around singing the chorus and everything. it's been out for what, a year now? and he still loves to listen to it. it's one of his favorites right behind Whats Up Danger from the Spiderverse OST.

 

I'm glad I'm not the only one indoctrinating my kids in pop-punk lol. Took them to see Warped Tour when they were two (only because it was the last year), and they've attended a few other shows with me. Most recently Set It Off / As It Is / Stand Atlantic (all of whom had songs that they liked).
