The video that Mark uploaded to his Instagram today...is that a possible new song teaser or just him jamming out? Fantasy Records is tagged at the bottom. Hmm...

You’re absolutely right! Drummer hasn’t toured with band for a whole year, nobody in band acknowledging it, drummer posts videos of a side project months after hiatus and bandmate unfollows drummer.

Certainly nothing to see here.

You don’t see why it matters that the band’s original and only drummer seems to be on the outs with the band?

 

People get burnt out and leave and want to do new things. Also social media is just stupid in generally.

 

It matters to the people in the band. It really shouldn’t be a big deal for their fans.

I mean a whole year is wrong. He went to Europe with them in the spring as well as doing the Coachella performances.

If Mark is out and they haven’t acknowledged it, I figure there’s some kind of reasoning behind the scenes for that—legal, personal feelings, they’re hoping it resolves itself, etc.

They did acknowledge his absence on stage during the tour, and prior to it starting, they posted he would be taking personal time. It’s not our business, but I kind of figured that was some kind of mental health time needed. Maybe he can’t actually tour with them at the moment for some reason, but that doesn’t mean he can’t or shouldn’t post videos of him doing his things on social media without addressing his absence. He’s in a band, but as fans, we’re not entitled to know everything he’s up to and everything they are going through.

also, I don’t know if I’ve ever thought to keep track of who is liking whose posts on social media and following lists. Though checking now, unless they kicked Mark out without him knowing, it would be weird (in my opinion) that he still has the band’s handle as his only profile on Instagram.

It sucks if he’s out because I think he’s been the driving force for a lot of their best moves, but I also…don’t worry about it until it’s said.

 

Mark also tried to make 152 nine songs long. John fought him on that.
