I was thinking about this post and I shit you not, "Swing, Swing" came on at work. You cannot make this shit up.

The only thing I remember him saying in the fall out was making comments about how much they had to tune Adam’s vocals for Live at Bamboozle and Live from Orensanz, and Adam being like “uhh they tuned his too?”
And apparently Fazzi lobbied hard for them to play “Didn’t See that Coming” and Adam was like “why? Its not like anyone is going to know it.” Or something like that. Which is funny because it turned out to be one of the best songs they’ve ever written

 

Saw a post on Mitch Register (fill-in for Mark) saying that he'll be back next month for the second leg of the tour.
I'm really concerned about Mark, guys...

 

That makes me nervous too. :/

 

I can't stop thinking about like, "What if Mark leaves unceremoniously like Eddie did"? 152 was a very Mark album. He made a lot of the instrumentals for it (or at least, the demo versions). I can't imagine the band without him, I honestly can't.

 

I saw someone in the r/takingbacksunday channel say that any decent drummer could replace Mark and that his parts are not that complicated, which is insane to me because they have a fill-in drummer playing for them right now and the guy does an okay job but its just not the same. He doesn’t seem to have Mark’s power or tightness to play those parts.

I really hope he’s doing alright and that he’s working through whatever it is that’s keeping him away.

I mentioned last week that when Adam introduced the fill-in drummer, he did not mention anything about Mark, which I found kind of weird. Feel like it would have went a long way if he said something quickly like 'we're hoping Mark is doing well' or 'Mark is just stepping away for a little bit' or anything to shut down any rumors.

Instead he just said 'Right before this tour we were put in a tough spot, a pickle if you will" which I don't know, sounds kind of like 'we were blindsided' or something.

 

Maybe he felt if he brought his name up, people would start wondering more?

 

To be honest, I was surprised he said anything at all. I've seen TBS a million times and I don't ever really remember him introducing everyone. Definitely the first time I've seen them introduce Nathan and he's been touring with them for 15 years.

Definitely more recent that he’s introducing everybody but I know at least Nathan was getting introduced during that 20 tour when he was doing the piano duties for blue channel. (And Shaun has been introduced the most reliable member on stage for the past couple of years but at one holiday show, he was best dressed)

interestingly, he did mention Mark’s name at one of the shows I went to on this past leg (didn’t say much of anything other than he’ll be back), so I wonder if he’s just changing it up.

I like it. He always shouts-out John Nolan on the gee-tar so it's nice to see the other guys getting a shout-out, too.

He *did* mention Mark on opening night of tour, said Mark was taking some personal time. Could be health or substance related so definitely not our business, they would say more if they could. They didn’t say anything about Eddie’s random absences at the start of Tidal Wave if I recall. Sometimes he was there, sometimes it was Nathan filling in.

 

If it was something against Mark, we probably would have heard about it from Mark at this point. That dude isn’t shy to talk shit lmao

Any word on Mark and how he’s doing / if he’ll back this tour?

 

I think they would have announced his return if he were playing tonight. So I’m gonna go with he’s still out.

 

I thought this was an outdoor show tonight. Maybe it was always the indoor stage? I forget now. But glad it’s inside. It’s humid and rainy. Place is packed.

 

I mean, I don’t think they’d need to announce it. But, I’m guessing he won’t be here.
