I remember the HI tour prediction. I think I liked this one way more. Essentially a jungle gym for Adam :crylaugh:

Would you mind relaying some of the lore on either songs? I'm curious!

As someone with autism (big surprise, I know) the four LED screens are a little too much for me. A little too overstimulating. Still looks cool in pictures though. Perhaps when I'm actually there the four screens won't be a big bother to me.

Nothing too specific on the meaning ...for Divine Intervention, Adam said something like "now is the part of the show where we play a really old song that we used to play all the time, but never play anymore" and that's when John was like "actually, we played this the last time we were here" and Adam got all embarrassed, ripped the harmonica off and then said "OK, we'll play the one that was on our first demo instead and it's one of the first songs of me singing for TBS and then it didn't officially appear until it was a B-side on our second album"

Yeah, there's a lot going on up on stage, so it can be overwhelming. Aside from the LED screens, there are a lot of lights between the risers as well.

The LED screens didn't start going until the 4th or 5th song of the set. But once they started, it was pretty much all action.

Also - Adam didn't say anything specifically about Mark, but when he was introducing all the band members (which took forever, haha) he said 'you've probably been wondering - WHO IS THAT GUY?' pointing to the drummer...and he said 'right before tour we were put in a tough spot - a pickle if you will. so we called up (insert guy's name here) and he assured us he would learn all the songs and he did' but did not mention Mark at all.

I also forgot Nathan was from Ohio...he had a bunch of family members in the crowd.

I think it's the lights plus the LED screens plus the glowing 152 that makes it too much for me. In still pictures it looks cool but in the videos all I can think is, "Oh God, this is gonna stimulate my brain for hours." I plan on being at the barricade for my show so I hope it's not as bad up close. If it is I don't know what I'll do.
TBS overstimulating me with their visuals is nothing new, though. One of the reasons I originally disliked them is because the video for Cute felt like it gave me epilepsy. And then the video for A Decade...

    Sending my love

I love the stairs for Adam to play around on. I think it was a bunch of fun.

Genuinely surprised Error Operator has remained a staple in the set. Out of all the songs you could sound bad singing on, that one is one of the toughest ones.

This is such a different version if you go back and listen!

I think it stays because it’s quick and Adam gets to play with his sound effects a lot during it pew pew

Adam has a hand in their stage design/production, so I’m not surprised that this and sad summer had a lot more elements for enrichment

If only they would apply that logic to Photograph since it was on the Spider Man 2 soundtrack

I thought I wasn't hearing things during that lmao. The effects he was doing during the bridge of Set Phasers were very bad imo because they were all over the place. Pick one or two effects and stay with it lol. Had to tell my friend that it wasn't lagging when the big delay part happened.

I mainly like how fun it is to play on guitar & bass.

Was that movie even that big a deal when it came out? I didn’t even know they recorded the song for that soundtrack until 2 years after the fact

I just think it's funny that the main cast (minus Jennifer Alba) is comprised of a bunch of dudes from obscure shows that I've seen and love. Yes, even Chris Evans.

Random thought: how weird is it that Live From Orensanz came out four months *after* John and Shaun rejoined.

    Crazy to think about.

But what about the Macbeth campaign that they put together before Matt and Fazzi left and the promo video they did for it post-John and Shaun's return where Matt and Fazzi couldn't even promote their own shoes, so it was just Adam, Eddie, and Mark? Awkwarrrrd...

That’s crazy Orensanz came out after! I always remembered it coming out the winter before, but must have just conflated that with when they recorded it.

also in my head a felt like there was a much longer touring cycle for New Again. It’s kinda wild that the Matts were kicked out like only 10 months after that album dropped.

I think it's deserving of a Trainwreckords video. Not because it's a bad album (it's not), but rather because of the shit show happening before and after its release.

Based Todd in the Shadows enjoyer.

But I’ve thought the same thing before too. One of the most successful bands of the early/mid 2000s emo & pop punk boom loses its 2nd guitarist/co-vocalist/songwriter in 4 years, gets a new replacement, releases an album they’re all seemingly on board with, doesn’t get the fan response they expected, and everyone in the band minus the Matts totally abandon it and kick them out, then reunite with their classic 1st album line-up. Its prime Trainwreckords material.

Matt Rubano has said before in a podcast interview that the whole story of the band (as a group and as individuals) is pretty crazy and rife for a “Behind the Music” style documentary, but would require a bunch of fact-checkers to get the whole thing straight.
