I’m gonna be honest….I've always been lukewarm on Timberwolves. If they never played it again, I wouldn’t miss it ♂️ but that’s just me. If people love and love seeing it live that’s cool.
On IG, they were reposting people watching their Bonnaroo livestream, and one of the people was an even worse singer than Adam lol
Timberwolves was my favorite when I first started listening to them but I've heard it enough that that I'd be happy to see them sub it for another TAYF cut like Romances or Bike Scene or something off 152. But I'd be surprised if they played less than 3 TAYF songs, they get the best reactions when I've seen them
I just dreamt last night that they played "Great Romances" at Bonnaroo and I woke up and thought it was real until I saw this wtf
Same, i DID like Timberwolves but over time it grew to become my least favorite track on the album although i did see them perform it one time with Ryan from Envy on the Coast and that ruled.
timberwolves was one of my favorite tracks when I first got into them but now I’m like …we can move on from this now, can’t we? At least in the live set?
Honestly, I'd be good with them never playing anything off TAYF ever again. I'm actually (pleasantly) shocked that they're only playing 3 songs off TAYF this tour. Good for them.
I think having Cute be a staple forever would make sense for them. Otherwise, yea, I wouldn’t be against them playing nothing else from it.
You Know How I Do is probably my favorite song from them, so I'd be okay if that re-joined as a 1-2 punch with Cute haha
I’m actually a lot more excited for TAYF at When We Were Young this year now. When they got announced for doing TAYF, I was like Boo, I’ve seen them do TAYF in full so many times now. I did three shows on the 10th anniversary tour and both nights of the 20 Tour. But now that they’re only doing 3 songs in the current set, I’m actually so looking forward to seeing You Know How I Do, Great Romances, Ghost Man, and The Blue Channel live again
Same. If they played Cute and then rotated 1 random TAYF song from show to show, I think that’d be cool. They simply have too many good deep cuts and all of 152 to let more than 2 songs from TAYF to make it into the set.
I only wanna hear ghost man on 3rd from TAYF, not sure I’ve heard that one in a really long time, if ever
Before dropping something off TAYF I say retire Error Operator forever. Instrumentally they still crush it but it's been in the set forever and they could swap it for something easier on their vocals
I agree. It’s had a good, consistent run and it does go off live, but yeah either start taking out the extra vocally demanding songs for a while or lower the key to those songs.
I like that they're flip-flopping between the two acoustic songs every few nights. Keeps me on my toes.
They fucking rocked tonight. My theory stands - this band in a 1 to 2K club venue with a bonkers crowd is where they need to be. The outdoor venues or festivals just doesn’t suit them. But indoors, in a small, sweaty, crazy atmosphere, the crowd takes over and we don’t need to nitpick John and Adam’s vocals. That said, John sounded much better and Adam was pretty good as well. And yes, they did play Your Own Disaster! They were fully prepared to play Divine Intervention, Adam even had his harmonica on and started talking about the history of the song and then John said “wait, didn’t we play it the last time we were here?” and Adam ripped off the harmonica and started talking about the history of Your Own Disaster instead. Also, the 152 songs sound SO GOOD live and the stage setup is great too. The visuals for all the 152 songs were cool too. Different vibe than the rest of the set.
Their stage production is often pretty awesome, especially during the Happiness is touring cycle with where they had the giant LED backdrop and Mark on a huge drum riser.
