Would love to see this tour since it comes so close to me but I already had tickets to vanna’s “reunion” in Boston - I’m sure they’ll tour again soon but I hope it stays 152-heavy.
Nolan sounds like he’s doing some sort of deep-voiced, raspy, drunk Bob Dylan impersonation. It’s fucking tragic. Oh well, still looking forward to Tuesday’s show in CLE
For anyone that hasn't been to a show yet on this tour, this set sounds WAY worse than anything live. Board mixes are this bands worst enemy, and a live setting is it's best friend. I dunno why I even watch these festival performances anymore haha
I will say, im listening with headphones and Shaun is KILLING it, and the fill in drummer seems a LOT more comfortable than he did the first week of the tour in Austin
Man, I really wish they were doing a full album run of 152 because all these songs sound pretty good live.
Adam singing a bit of Posty's part from "Fortnight" got me. I had that on my lists of songs he would sing during that part. I can read this man's mind. Someone help me.
This was the same set they did for that fest they played in Maryland. A decently long time. I will say the crowd shots looked like the people in attendance were having fun, and you could hear them calling for one more song at the end so. Also a fun thing. Wild to think they’ve been a band for so long and are still getting to do this “firsts.” Rough that the tour routing put a live-streamed fest performance after two days of playing shows especially when looking at most of the tour dates, there are only a few exceptions where they have a long stretch of 4-5 days before getting a day off and most of them are just 2-3 days
Have been to three shows on this tour (night 1 in NOLA, last Wednesday in Denver, and Saturday in STL). Adam sounded pretty decent in NOLA and STL but did not sound as good in Denver, but Denver crowd was by far the best of the three and the largest venue. Still love this band with every ounce of my heart and will defend them til I die. Some missed notes isn’t enough to take away all that meaning in those songs, and thank goodness the band is still fully engaged in the set and gives all the energy. The biggest bummer is that 75% of people that go to TBS shows in 2024 couldn’t give a fuck about any music they’ve released in the last decade which truly destroys the dynamic of the set. I think they’ve found the right balance by alternating the 152 songs with the classics, but damn would I rather see ALL of 152 live over ever having to see Timberwolves or Set Phasers to Stun again for the 1000th time.
Honestly, same. I love those songs to death but I like seeing new stuff too. Sucks that those casual fans can't get into their more recent material.
One of my best friends - who never goes to concerts (we haven't been to a concert together since Fun. in 2013 and rarely if ever do we even talk about music) - texted me over the weekend and asked if I was going to TBS and I said yeah and he was like 'I got drunk a few weeks ago and picked up a ticket LOL' and now I'm dreading meeting up with him there because I KNOW he's going to hate it. No chance he's listened to anything from TBS since Louder Now and last time he saw them they were a WAY better live band...18 years ago.
