I don't understand why you guys hate it so much. It's such an inoffensive song, I can't imagine getting angry at it. Is that why?
I was there. I barely remember the actual TBS set but I remember it POURED the entire day (and possibly during their set?) and everybody was drenched and soggy.
i've heard TAYF and Your Own Disaster so much that i'd be fine watching them play a set without any of those songs.
I don’t think anyone is angry. Divine is not a song I like. Disaster is one I like a lot. It’s really that simple.
I like it but it's so super repetitive. But then there's also the parts where it just layers on top of each other and it's beautiful, so there's that. Do you guys prefer the demo version of the '04 version with Fred and Matt? I like both. Also, I get it. You guys are just being dramatic about Divine for the bit.
divine intervention is a good song. your own disaster is better. both songs are good. really all that needs to be said but alas
For me, it’s in part that they played Divine Intervention for half of the tour dates they did in 2019 so I’ve seen it once or twice fairly recently, whereas with Your Own Disaster, I haven’t seen it in a long time. I just want to hear more variety in their sets.
Damn, I didn't know that the '04 version was so hated. Guess it goes to show how new I am to this board. I somehow forgot about the Orensanz version.
There’s a live version of Disaster on YT from their TAYF10 show from Starland Ballroom in 2013 that is actually really great. Song starts at 40:17
