This album has two distinct halves for me: the first almost half that I overplayed 100x before album release, and then the 2nd half. Almost like 2 eps.
Ended up going to their in store performance on Long Island today. Happy to finally have this on vinyl (and signed!). Don't know if it's been mentioned yet but I see that S'old has peaked at #27 on the US Alternative Chart. Unless I'm mistaken this is the first time they've had a single chart in the US since Sink Into Me.
I re-listened to New Again the other day and wow there’s some really cool guitar and bass work going on in there. listened to the new album today and I am fully on board too
hope they play this in full on the tour like they did Tidal Wave - id really love to hear it. I can do without most of 'the hits' at this point. this is worth devoting the time to each night.
If they played Tidal Wave in full I gotta believe they'll do that for this since they seem even prouder of it. I gotta see this in full badly
And this album is only 30 minutes. They can easily play it in full and then do 45 minutes of greatest hits.
The album play they’ve been doing have had a 5 minute intermission between the album and a “hits” setlist of about 12 songs.
I agree this album needs a full play-through on tour, but the rest of the set needs a refresh. Too many good songs in their back-catalogue that rarely get played live
Okay fuck it I’m doing it- if the tour for this album were to be a 152 play-thru, intermission, then 14 songs spanning their catalogue (B-sides included), what does everyone’s preferred 2nd half of the set look like? Doesn’t have to be in order of how the set would flow, just which songs you’d want to hear. I’m going with: You Know How I Do Great Romances Little Devotional The Union Brooklyn I’ll Let You Live Summer, Man Carpathia This Is All Now It Doesn’t Feel a Thing Like Falling Beat Up Car We Were Younger Then Fences In The Middle of It All (P.S. Sorry in advance if this discussion ends up yielding album rankings or “NA is good” posts. Not trying to go down those rabbit holes again haha)
I admit I struggled with that but I was also taking the longevity of Adam’s voice into account when I put that together, but that’s just me. I wouldn’t envy having to sing that every night. Also part of the reason why I struggled leaving 180, Spin and Better Homes and Gardens off the list as well.
Set Phasers To Stun Spin My Blue Heaven This Is All Now Cute Without The E Everything Must Go MakeDamnSure It Takes More We Don't Go In There Timberwolves of New Jersey All The Way Great Romances The Union You Can't Look Back
Cute Timberwolves Great Romances 180 Slow Dance MakeDamnSure Ghost My Blue Heaven Carpathia Best Places Beat Up Car Better Homes Call Come Running Deathwolf
oh this is kind of fun. gonna go with two songs from each album to make it even. also going with some songs i WANT to hear live, because some of these i likely never will again or at all. You Know How I Do Ghost Man on Third The Union I Am Fred Astaire Spin Brooklyn (Louder Now B-Side) Sink Into Me - why is this song so underrated? thought it was a great single. Long Time Comin (New Again B-Side and arguably the best song outside of Carpathia from that session) Who Are You Anyway Since You're Gone All the Way They Don't Have Any Friends You Can't Look Back Homecoming
