Damn, they sound really good. Adam especially sounds great. I don't think John sounds as bad as some of you are making him out to be. Don't get me wrong, some of his line delivery is off, but overall I think he sounds solid. It can't be easy to maintain your voice when half of what you're signing is yelling/shouting. He crushed the ending of Decade.
He can and will and has played freebird at shows because people yell it the second he picks up a guitar
It's true. I was at their 20-year show and was that asshole who yelled Freebird and he started playing it. I've never yelled it again since.
wow... "keep going" live... might have to buy some resale tickets to their bowery show to see this in person
Watching this performance, I wanna give a quick shout out to Nathan. Dude’s been touring with them since John & Shaun came back, and he’s always on point with the harmonies, and absolutely rips Fred’s solos when called for.
I'm definitely coming around on 152. I wasn't a fan fresh out of the gate, but I find myself revisiting Quit Trying and The Stranger constantly.
I cannot wait to see Adam do his dance/boot stomp to Lightbringer if they play it live. “You wore your hair back…”
Damn, near zero chance I win tickets to this. Pretty small DC club (terrible sound, though, unfortunately).
Looks like he got a songwriting credit on Quit Trying as well, so he's an official contributor now too!
This sounds about right. I only listened once when it came out and haven't gone back. That "samey" is literally how id describe the first part of the second half (not sure if our tracks are exact, but relatively close). It was a different record, for sure, and good, but not much for me....except S'old, which is very close to what drew me to the band in the first place. I like how John said that the song Sailing (i forget the artist, tho I'm more familiar with the N'SYNC remake anyway) was influencial on this record.
This album is full of ear worms. Was so-so on it last week but lyrics and melodies kept creeping in, now I’ve been playing it on repeat.
No top 50 for TBS, 50th was 15k, not sure their sales. Not real shocking, all these bands that have been around forever like Yellowcard, NFG, Trio, feel like they always seem to be around like 8k or so from what I've noticed
The livestream makes me really wanna see this band live on this album cycle, asap. Just great vibes all around.
