Not as in awe of this as everyone else, but it’s a very easy listen and definitely the most charged up they’ve sounded in years. Liked those last two songs quite a bit, and I Am The Only One a lot as well Hats off to whoever produced this too, it sounds amazing imo
This is so good. An easy listen but with probably the right amount of emotion in terms of what I'm after at 37. No skips and at 30 mins I can see myself regularly queueing this up for a full listen. Very very surprised. Excellent stuff.
I just listened to this interview with Shaun, and he says it didn’t turn out the way they wanted, so it sounds like it might not come out? Taking Back Sunday's Shaun Cooper On "152," Long Beach & More
I liked the singles but after my first listen last night the second half seemed…boring? A lot of mid tempo stuff that didn’t really stand out.
This record isn’t grabbing me much but I will say I enjoy Keep Going, New Music Friday, and Juice 2 Me.
I did one listen while driving and I’m in the middle. I think it’s interesting for them but also not what I look for them sound wise. I like tracks 1-2 and 7-9 a lot. 3-4 are okay, 10 I need to listen to again, and 5-6 felt a little same-y after the first 4 tracks.
Just listened to this once on my drive home from work (back to back with the new Gaslight). I still like the singles that I dug (basically everything but The One), but overall it didn't really grab me all that much. First listens for me are hardly definitive though, so I'm sure I'll be giving it a few spins before I know how I really feel.
That was my reaction. It just sounds good. I was shockingly surprised. Need a few more listens to see if it connects. I also feel it has an odd sound that just doesn’t fit in any market. That being said, give me a club tour and two decent openers (Spanish Love Songs would be preferred) and I’m there.
I've been broken down in so many ways Sick of myself, too scared to change I've been waiting for the day to come When all that's left is moving on
That part sounds really similar to “You Can’t Look Back” from Tidal Wave. Both songs are going for that Boys of Summer vocal delivery. He even says, “You wore your hair back” and Don Henley’s song says, “you had your hair slicked back”
