check out ohia - just be simple read through all of the some girls / american nightmare (any other wes bands) lyrics and you’ll notice little things. carpal tunnel of love and golden were word for word taken out of a book of poetry wes wrote. that’s all i can remember right now. in the booklet for FUCT they had to actually credit wes for the tear catcher lyric.
The vocal melody in the chorus of Patron Saint is essentially Cute Without the E. There were other things too that were more well known when I was younger but yes Adam did allude to a lot of this and yes obviously the Wes Eisold situation.
yeah Wes sued them and now is able to be a full time artist because of the royalties he made off that
I heard a friend playing this song live once, thinking it was a new original song, then heard that lyric and thought "...did he just quote FOB?" and much later found out it was a cover of this song, and it was a real WAIT WHAT moment.
