I think it sounds like old school TBS. Definitely an Eddie type song. Not so much the lyrics, but the chord progressions.
They should’ve gotten two generic singers instead of one. That way they could further emphasize that they’re pretending they’re still in their 20s. Also, I doubt anyone will wanna stay with this for long, so you have the backup there already.
Eddie’s biggest contributions to TBS were bridges and outros. In fact I think he wrote most of the music for 180 By Summer.
I will always like New Again, and think the people who react cartoonishly to people liking it (as if it’s self-evidently trash) are silly dorks. However. At this point, at least half of the people in this thread who are fans are willfully annoying. Past albums people like and don’t like will and should organically come up, but the bit is pretty tired. Find a new bit, like dunking on Mark and Eddie’s dumbass band.
why don't people like new again? what is actually wrong with it? i don't like louder now except makedamnsure so i won't believe it if anyone says NA wasn't a good follow up. new again is my second favourite by them but i do wish the production was better.
Challenging people's obstinate takes with your own is certainly an option. I like both Louder Now and New Again, and think they are both swell ass albums.
The only thing I don't like about New Again is Adam's voice on it. Almost every song it sounds like he's singing with a clenched jaw. As someone who loves to sing, it legit painful for me to listen to. Otherwise, I don't hate it. There's plenty of good songs on there. It's just not my favorite album by them.
2 good things happened on New Again.... Everything Must Go and the drums sounded like drums again since Valentine was gone. Now let's move on
