I don't know why I'm still thinking about this stupid Naked Chalupa thing, but it's fine... just doesn't really fit Taco Bell. Also, the name is terrible.
I'll be trying one tonight. chalupas are my go-to, and I thought the double-down was genius. so I have high hopes.
I need to try the naked chicken chalupa. And not just because it has the sexiest name in the business.
agree with the other sentiment in here that it was good, but felt lacking. could definitely use beans or something in the place of meat inside.
I loved the naked chalupa. That sauce that goes with it is good, it's like a jalapeño ranch or something. It'd go good with some nacho cheese and maybe extra chicken.
my review of it is basically: it is what it is I didn't love it, didn't hate it it could have used something else. maybe not meat, or even beans or rice, but something. and I can't put my finger on what it would be
What I've heard about their breakfast is that it's small portions. The waffle taco and the crunch wrap are smaller than their lunch/dinner counterparts.
I thought the Naked Chicken Chalupa was good for what it is. I like that it had a little bit of a kick to it, the avocado ranch sauce was a good idea, and the chicken has good flavor. I definitely ageee that something else in the middle would benefit it and make it feel a bit more substantial but overall it's fine. I read on I think Business Insider that at the tasting event they held in New York last week the TB reps were saying that more fried chicken menu items are being explored internally, which I support. Honestly I'm surprised we haven't seen something like a fried chicken quesarito or crunchwrap or something yet. If this does well we could see things like that in the future at some point.
Really surprised it didn't happen sooner considering the parent company, Yum Brands, owns KFC as well
