it's the hotness right now, but yeah the premise didn't seem too appealing to me. Seems kind of overwhelming tbh but I guess when you brand it as an open world boardgame that's part of it

Every months I contemplate jumping back in. Now that rotation happened and reprints are now a thing I may consider it. Do you play just for fun at the kitchen table or actually attend events?

  2. i play MtG and Lorcana with friends, Commander this Thursday will actually be the first time i play at any event. my friends don't have Lorcana tho so they use my decks and we play against each other or Ursula/Jafar. in that sense, introducing rotation doesn't necessarily affect me personally, but a set that's mostly reprints equals less new princesses to acquire, that's all. aside from princesses i'm more interested in getting cards from my favorite properties rather than just good cards in general, so my decks aren't really optimized

That's the way to do it. I played casual magic for years before setting foot into an event. Even then, I only did that for a few years.

How's the Jafar thing? Doable solo or nah?

  4. maybe with the right deck? we had a tough time bc the ones we used weren't aggressive enough. so far i've only tried it the one time tho

haven’t played shriek yet but i did give a knock at the door a try last night. put the strangers on in the background which made for a fun experience. i don’t know if i just got lucky or made a mistake but i won with no problem and only crafted a single item, which i didn’t even end up using. regardless, i had a really good time with this one.

Finally cracked open my fancy version of Castles of Burgundy yesterday and then we played Vale of Eternity, same guy won both and crushed us in Vale.

Today we're playing even more casual games, Hot Streak and Monikers are the big ones I really wanna play.

someone offloaded a bunch of insane Kickstarter editions of games to my local game store. All sealed, like over 100 boxes. Look at this stuff:

I was a bit puzzled why people were so fond of it but the amount of manipulation you get to do to the deck by the third race really brings a lot of spice to the game

That’s so much stuff. There’s always people in our local Board Game exchange Facebook group selling giant kickstarters like that. I know they’re probably trying to flip it and make some money. But I don’t get it.

@Colby Searcy I just finished my first match of Shriek. Setup felt like a lot, and there are definitely some easy-to-forget rules so I had to take it pretty slowly, but what a great time. The level of creativity in some of these feature films, and especially this one, is so impressive. I’m excited to hear your thoughts once you give it a shot. I managed to win, but it was an intense final battle.
