If you ever want to try again, just stick to the General-FG-Talk Discord room and turn off notifications so it doesn’t feel overwhelming. I’ve been posting in there regularly with questions, comments, and just chatting about the game. I’ve never really interacted with devout board gamers before but it is shocking how nice, helpful, and welcoming the people in the Discord channel are! Played my first game last night on the game mats and wow, I never want to play another game without neoprene mats, haha. It really elevated it for me. The dice tray is also a game changer; it felt great to not have to constantly pick up a die off the floor. I still lost terribly though. Frightmare also arrived but I’m not letting myself even open it until after I’ve beaten Hans a couple times with both Final Girls. Also, pre-game mat, but here’s a shot of my playing environment from the other night lol
Amazing setup and environment! Yes from everything I’ve seen in the Discord everyone is super friendly and helpful and genuinely just happy that others are enjoying the game. I would definitely recommend beating Hans at Camp Happy Trails a few times to really get the hang of the rules before moving on to others for sure. i don’t have the game mats because I have a pretty good puzzle/game table type thing that has removable trays that helps me keep things organized very well.
Mistborn co-op is brutal, first couple times we won but the last three games the Lord Ruler has stomped us lol
Wife and I played Exit: Lord of the Rings last night. Found it pretty difficult for a level 2 out of 5
Fuck Hans. I’m getting closer and closer to my first Final Girl win, but jesus, I wish I could jump into the game as myself and strangle him.
I finally beat him a couple of nights ago. I had made a mistake that benefited me, but I think I probably still would’ve won had that not happened. That said, I just beat him again using Reiko for the first time, and this time I made no mistakes. Fucking awesome and satisfying win - got him with the archery bow, retaliate, and then critical blow. Our final meeting had us both at one heart which was exciting. I probably won’t play until tomorrow, but I did just open Frightmare. I’m going through the rules and this seems like it’s going to be a lot of fun. Final Girl is so fucking cool.
I LOVE Maple Lane location but fucking hate Dr. Fright he’s pretty difficult. glad you were finally able to win a few! Feels so good after getting destroyed multiple times in a row
Yes for sure! Dr. Fright’s killer mechanics are very good, probably my favorite of the killers I’ve played but extremely frustrating, especially when you feel like you are close to winning
Just played it. I honestly didn’t find him that bad! He killed me, but it was pretty close. Unfortunately someone decided to throw a house party and his dark power card got revealed (“any victim that would panic dies instead” lmao) before I could save them, so nobody at that party left in tact and it made him very powerful. SUPER fun, though. The boiler room deck was as cool as I thought it would be and while it killed me the second time I fell asleep I actually woke up completely unscathed the first time. It’s crazy how immersive this game can be.
Update: I didn't get it. But they said that they really wanted me and someone else, and ultimately went with the other person. They'll let me know the next time something else opens up. So I guess that's something.
Yeah, it's all good. I still do videos for them from time to time, but it would have been cool to be on a regular paid schedule with them.
Hahaha hell yeah. I have Poltergeist and Gepetto arriving today. …but I also found the S3 Ultimate Box on sale for $197.99 here and ordered it yesterday morning even though I haven’t opened any of my S2s yet. Final Girl: S3 Ultimate Box People in the Discord seem to be liking The Marrek Murders, or at least I’ve seen it mentioned quite a bit.
Not to bring doom and gloom into everything, but Jamey Stegmaier of Stonemeyer games (Wingspan, Scythe, Viticulture, etc.) posted a pretty harrowing take on how the tariffs will affect the tabletop gaming industry. Spoiler: it's ain't good. The Darkest Timeline
I watched AJ and his son do a playthrough of Marrek Murders and it seemed really interesting. Of S3 that one was the one I was most interested in since I’m a big Saw fan. I went with Hell To Pay and Terror from Destiny after listening to them talk about all the S3 content on the FG podcast. I’ve been wanting/needing a dice tray so that was a huge draw too plus bonus tear dice of course.
@Colby Searcy Have you read about Shriek? It’s an upcoming Final Girl Feature Film, and it sounds like it’s going to be really fun. The location is a board game convention, and the victims are all cosplaying as previous Final Girl killers (and yes, it comes with miniatures!) and you have to interrogate them to find which one is Mort, the killer. The gameplay looks pretty unique and I can’t wait.
Oh yes! I tuned in to their announcement stream a few weeks ago. That one and the Animatronic one seem the most interesting to me currently.
