I believe I did but I never gave it a try. If I’m being honest, I sort of forgot solo play was an option and I probably would’ve reconsidered getting rid of it had I remembered. That said, setup was pretty brutal from what I remember. They gave me the core game + Camp Happy Trails. I was so excited after my first play through a little bit ago that I ordered the play mat + Frightmare. I’m gonna save Frightmare for a special occasion - maybe after I beat Camp Happy Trails on extreme or something. What a good game. It might have been the edible I took but I found it surprisingly immersive? I’m stoked to play again tomorrow.
Yeah that’s fair re: Mansions of Madness thankfully I just have all the cards and tokens sitting in my drawers of board I use for gaming so I don’t have to get them out every time. I have played solo mostly but played with my son last and definitely feel like it works better with more than 1 person. Final Girl I have 5-6 scenarios but don’t have the playmate. I like Happy Trails a lot because it’s very bare bones and fairly straightforward. I like Frightmare location a lot but I find Dr. Fright difficult to beat, at least based on my play style. Really immersive and incredibly intense/stressful game at times but incredible game overall!
What are your favorite FG scenarios? I couldn’t not go Nightmare on Elm Street but I’m sure I’ll eventually want another…and another….
Oh and I recommend getting the app for Final Girl @wisdomfordebris it helps to kinda keep track of things pretty well.
Out of the ones I have I really like Hans and Big Bad Wolf because they are very basic and not too rules heavy. The Asylum location for Ratchet lady is also good but she’s a brutal killer to beat as is Gepetto at the Carnival location.
The carnival was one of the ones that stood out because I’m a sucker for that kind of setting. I actually bought the app a few minutes ago! I am still in disbelief that I didn’t know about this game. It was only like two years ago that I was trying to find a solo game and I’m not sure how I didn’t come across this! Practically tailor made for me haha.
Ordered the Box of Accessories for the tear dice. Plus I just really needed a dice tray so I can stop getting angry every time a die goes flying off the coffee table.
Is that with Series 3? I’ve seen them going around and have been debating it but I haven’t really b played FG in a few months so couldn’t justify it yet. I have the box of props and really enjoy those. The Hard plastic/acrylic material used on the health tokens are fantastic!
Yep, Series 3! Yeahhh, I really want the box of props but I’ve already gone too hard with this game I’ve literally only had for two days haha.
Yuppp, I can already tell. Are you part of the Discord? I can’t believe how active it is, and everyone seems ridiculously nice and helpful.
I joined it recently but it’s very overwhelming to me and I’m not super sure how to use discord all that well. The FB group is also very very good for that(which is basically the same group of people). Watching playthrough really helped with rules as well.
I recently got given a dice tray based on my longtime D&D character for my birthday and I love it so much. definitely a necessity
I don't like using dice trays but a few of the folks that come to game night could definitely use one, so I should get a nice one.
Alright, fineeeeee @Colby Searcy, I just ordered North Pole Nightmare (which I’ll save for next winter) and the S2 Ultimate Box, which contains the box of props. Now I’m done. Bad/good morning for my annual bonus to show up.
I got an interview for a paid How-to-Play game video gig with a big YouTube channel. thoughts and prayers, etc.
