Other boardgame talk; I sleeved my copy of Comic Hunters and that game seems like it could be really fun, love the different drafting mechanics based on location. I also punched Cascadia and Furnace so I'm hoping I can table all 3 at the next game night.

We ended up doing 4 games of Scout, so that was definitely a bit for all of us. Ended up getting creamed on the last 2.

 

duuuudee. You’re into for some fun. Cascadia and Furnace are two all time favorites of mine! Comic Hunters is also really good. I heard the component quality is pretty bad, so I haven’t picked it up yet.

 

need to bust out Cascadia again. I enjoyed it solo but it definitely seems like one that is better with other players

 

Yeah I went out of my way to sleeve Comic Hunters because I heard the card stock was pretty bad, and it is! Some of the Age 3 cards were already warped when I opened the box!

 

That’s such a bummer. I’m sure it’s because Spinmaster was involved with the production. Arcane Wonders is usually top shelf for production.

So I played the #1 BGG game of all time last night and did not enjoy it

Brass Birmingham, took 3.5 hours (1 of which was setup/learning the rules). Didn't like the mechanics, didn't like the theme, just did not like. Heavy Euro game. Will not try again.

On the other hand, played Dice Throne for the first time and that was a quick and fun play, will try again.

 

Played Trekking Through History with some buddies tonight. Really enjoyed it lot of different strategies at play

I’ve never been interested in it.
I remember when I got into gaming around ‘09, I was all about the top game son BGG. I think Agricola and Puerto Rico were going back and forth for the number 1 spot. And I thought they were both awesome. Nowadays, I don’t care as much.

 

I thought Twilight Struggle was amazing but that and maybe Pandemic Legacy were the only games I bought solely for their standing on the top 100.

 

pandemic legacies are some of my favorite gaming experiences of all time.

Been playing Horrified (Universal Monsters) and Final Girl a lot lately. Both are great.

 

What Final Girl feature films do you have??? Also do you have any of the other accessories??

 

Just the Camp Happy Trails one. And no I don’t have any of the accessories. But I looked them up the other day and they look cool. Especially the mat.

Which one(s) are you eyeing next?? I got into the game earlier this year and I love it! I have 5 feature films and the box of props. Don’t have the playmat because my board game board is sufficient to contain everything.

 

Honestly I haven’t even looked into any of the others yet. Which ones do you recommend?

 

Camp Happy trails is awesome! If you want something similar from S2 I would recommend Once Upon A Full Moon/Big Bad Wolf. If you want something with a few more rules but not too much I’d recommend Frightmare on Maple Lane/Dr. Fright

 

i have a couple of the other ones but my friends and i havent tried them yet, are you playing it solo or with a group?

 

Somehow our team of Gamora, Rocket and Black Panther got beat by Rhino in Marvel Champions.

I was playing as Rocket and was the first to die.. probably because I neglected how important rocket boots were.

 

I haven’t played Marvel Champions. But Rhino is also a pain in Marvel United. They actually nerfed him a bit with a rules update.
