Been getting back into Smash Up lately. Played it a lot back in its early days from 2013-2015 with my brother and our friend. Trying to get it going again with them

 

I used to own it but I never ended up playing it. I heard it was crazy chaotic, which isn’t usually my thing

 

It's not really my thing either. You can't strategize for a random asteroid destroying half your ship with a dice roll but I did find it funny when it wasn't happening to me lol

 

Galaxy Trucker is one of my favourite games, the chaos just levels the field for the second half of the game.

 

Played 2 games of Final Girl back-to-back and each took less than 30 minutes. Quickest I’ve ever died!

 

finally played Wingspan with my housemate yesterday after hyping it up for months and he trounced me first match. life is cruel

I played a 10 hour game of Twilight Imperium yesterday. I didn’t hate it. But I don’t think I liked it terribly much. VERY VERY long. But it was engaging all the way through.

 

Only got Castles of Burgundy in before we switched to Rock Band for game night but it was fun! A little more work to setup and teardown than I expected

 

I saw that on your story and remember thinking "this does NOT seem like his type of game" lol. I've always heard that game is one where you sort of have to dedicate a whole weekend to. And while it looks so cool, that's such a big commitment for me

 

I'd love to play a 4x boardgame sometime but they all seem so long and not a good fit for my group at all

 

My friends and I started playing Primal, it's pretty darn cool

 

Last Light is a super quick one if you want to try one out.

 

Yeah…. It’s NOT my kinda game. But I feel like I earned a gamer merit badge by getting through a game.

 

What does 4x mean?

 

eXplore, eXpand, eXploit, eXterminate

second game went much better - 12 points. poured some scotch, put the Wingspan digital soundtrack on and went for it.

I don’t own a printer…. But I’ve been tempted. I wish there were more pokemon games. There is so much potential there.

 

yooo we finally got it here. we started playing at 9pm last night not realising it was an entirely different game that we'd have to learn new rules for so it went late lmao. but it was so fun

 

Yeah it's not just a re-skin, the guild board changes everything

 

yeah I lost the game narrowly because of the guild board, did not have my head around exactly how powerful it was until too late in the game
