Took a bit of a break from Final Girl cuz I was busy but I played a round tonight with Dr . Fright at Maple Lane and beat him pretty easily! I only have 1 more final girl to win with Geppetto and then I’ll start mix and matching the boards and killers
found a copy of The 7th Continent at Half Price Books for $10. Without knowing a single thing about the game, I knew it was a good price and snagged it. Turns out MSRP is $70 so that was a steal. It actually doesn't really seem like my thing so I might sell it lol but at that price I couldn't resist
It's a pretty massive adventure game. The new edition, 7th Citadel is current delivering, so that might drive some of the pricing down. I've heard good things, but it's too big for me to dive into.
Main game at game night on Sunday was another play of Modern Art, went a little longer at 80 minutes this time thanks to roleplaying and weighing decisions more but still had a lot of fun! We also just played some regular old Uno and tried No Thanks! for the first time, which was very fun! Loved that game and we were getting games in at 6-8 minutes
Game night yesterday comprised of a slightly longer than 2 hours 3-Player Scythe session and then a bunch of lighter stuff like Bohnanza (finally got it to the table though we played at 7 and it went too fast!), No Thanks, Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza and Super Mega Lucky Box (a neat little bingo version of That's Pretty Clever that plays 6, I definitely prefer That's Pretty Clever but since we had 6, it is what it is!)
I've never played Gloomhaven but the new expansion (or miniature version?) looks kinda cool Gloomhaven: Buttons & Bugs
It's a solo game, new and different to other Gloomhaven(s). It looks interesting, especially for solo gamers. I have played Gloomhaven: Jaws of the Lions, and while it's fun, there is so much management needed it just becomes annoying. This looks like it cuts out most of that.
Oh cool another solo game I need to check out. Speaking of, I haven’t played Final Girl in like a week and I’m not okay
I've been playing Jaws of the Lion semi-weekly and it's been really fun, I think the combat system in Gloomhaven is pretty incredible (though I think the elemental track is kind of a miss). I bought normal Gloomhaven years ago but I've never opened the box, I've heard the setup and teardown is a real bear even if you get an insert, but I'm liking Jaws enough that I might have to try it someday soon
Gloomhaven is tons of fun, but yeah, lots of management work. My friend just dedicated his gaming table to it for the ~year that he played through the campaign so he wouldn’t have to move anything.
Had a very mini-game night with a friend today, we played Splendor: Duel, Can't Stop and Fleet: The Dice Game, all first time plays for me (well, physically, I've played Can't Stop a fair amount on BGA), all were fun, probably liked Fleet the most!
Anyone played Everdell? Played with some buddies tonight but we were only able to get about 1/2 through or so. Really enjoyed the setting and premise
Just once. I really enjoyed it and would love to play again. There are like 6 expansions tho so there's a lot of replayability. Also has a solo mode which I'm into. Also also there's a digital version that I might grab on Switch if it goes on sale
I was very intrigued by the solo mode for sure. One of the friend’s said his wife plays it that way and loves it.
I will finally get to my Kickstarter copy of Everdell... Next, next game night! Next one we are doing The Castles of Burgundy and then some small-box/party game stuff since the next game night is doubling as a WrestleMania watch party
Saw a post about this boardgame on Reddit Great timing to have this come out sometime this year after Balatro. The Gang
anyone played Galaxy Trucker? Played it a few nights in a row, it's like no other game I've ever played. Absolute chaos and hilarious.
