Yeah after my first game (which I did terribly), I remember thinking maybe I made a mistake picking it up lol. Then after the second game (and realizing I had been playing wrong to my detriment) I doubled my score and felt better, but also realized that yeah as a co-op, it definitely would be more fun with additional players.
just played the Asia expansion for Wingspan the first time, the duet mode and rebalanced boards are so nice
dang, already?? I haven't even gotten a notification that it's ready lol. are you a 'champion' or whatever on Stonemeier's website?
Yeah I went ahead and tried the sub since it comes out to the same price after discount for the game + resource pack bundle, and I think I'll pick up some expansions and promos for their other games later this year, clamping down on my spending for now tho since I still have to pay for my DCeased pledge.
I've heard things. What's the worst thing that happens? They don't hit their goal? The product ends up sucking? They take years to come to fruition?
Some absolutely never ship. Any licensed stuff from a relatively unknown publisher is the stuff I most try to avoid. I do some Kickstarters here and there but I hate the model
Oh those aren’t even the worst things. I’ve only had a few kickstarters (only 1 was a board game) that never fulfilled and they just ghosted everybody. You don’t get charged unless they hit their goal so you don’t have to worry there. And I’ve luckily picked games that didn’t end up sucking or didn’t take too long. The WORST part of it is you can get addicted because you’re always getting FOMO about having the next new thing or getting the exclusives that won’t be at retail like upgraded components and shit. This obviously won’t happen to everyone but it’s definitely a thing and I can attest to it because I accumulated way too many games over like a 2 year period right before Covid.
I kickstart things from time to time, but only from publishers I trust. It saves me a lot of time and money to be picky about it.
yeah sometimes I'll browse the 'Ending Soon' Kickstarters on BGG and can see how easy it is to get sucked in
The Kickstarters I've backed from memory are; DCeased, Slay The Spire, Everdell Collector's Editions, CMON Timewarp (Zombicide Green Horde/Rising Sun) and Campy Creatures
I bought some Titanshield Sleeves, and never again, those things stick to each other real bad and one of literally just broke off the card, with very little force lol.
I played my first game of Final Girl last night and lost. I’m still not sure I know how to play. Think I need to watch some playthroughs
Played another round of Final Girl last night. I feel like I’m getting more of the hang of it now after watching a couple of play through and playing a couple myself. i realize my strategy did not work very well though, i way underestimated my cards in my hand haha
