T2: Trainspotting 2 (2017)

The sequel 20 years in the making to one of the best cult classics of all time is finally here!

 

Are they really calling it T2?

 

Oh boy

 

The book's sequel is called Porno, so I'm guessing they didn't want to use that title.
It's hard to tell if it's actually following the plot of Porno at all from the trailer (my guess is not so much, people who haven't read the book probably won't care about Nikki and will want to see more of how the old gang interacts). Either way, it looks beautiful and I'm really looking forward to seeing all these characters again.

 

I mean, was just Trainspotting 2 out of the question?

 

From the interviews I've read/seen, this movie is supposed to follow the storyline of "Porno" and the title was obviously not used for marketing reasons.

 

Saw this tonight and it was unbelievable, AND Danny Boyle surprised the audience before it started and did a quick Q&A.

 

I saw this last night. Pleasantly surprised how good it was! The bit were they had to make up the song had me in stitches when it looked like they were about to bomb and hit out with: "There were no more catholics left"

 

I like that they ended up doing a different story than Porno but kept many elements the same. I think this was a little too long, but otherwise very good. I'll definitely be seeing it again.

 

My biggest complaint other than the length is the use of Dianne. I feel like they shouldn't have had her in the movie just for that one scene. It felt like a waste.
