I really like a lot of this. It’s really long but I struggle to think of anything I would cut. “F2F”’ sounds like TikTok Rock if any of that shit was good. Doesn’t feel as cohesive as CTRL but maybe that will change with repeat listens.
Go ahead and call me insane... But does the chorus of Kill Bill sound like a melody that Rivers Cuomo would write? Imagine him singing it
In all seriousness though this album is a lot better than I thought it would be when I saw the length. I never really got bored which was my biggest fear. She shows a lot of range on here
I’m really late to her music, had heard some songs here and there but finally checked out Ctrl in full yesterday… what an album. On this album now and I love it so far. Idk if this is way off base, but the flow of this album is kinda reminding me of Frank Ocean’s Endless, with its collection of disparate songwriting ideas in a way that flows almost like a journal in the best way.
I don't think there's any outright bad songs on this project, but imo this would've worked better as an album if the tracklist was just: 1. Love Language 2. Kill Bill 3. Blind 4. Gone Girl 5. Smoking On My Ex Pack 6. Ghost in the Machine 7. F2F 8. Nobody Gets Me 9. Conceited 10. Special 11. Far 12. Shirt 13. I Hate U 14. Good Days
after first reaction I had a few songs I loved and everything else was good but now I’m hooked on everything completely
Lizzo has a writing credit on F2F. I wonder if it originally was meant to be a collab or if they just wrote together EDIT: also credited with background vocals on the track
