i could be wrong, but i feel like this really started with Kanye consistently mixing until (or past) the last possible minute, and then changing things later on. even if he didn't start it, it definitely felt like it became more prominent when he dropped TLOP.

on her ig post for drive music video she said the album will be out in the morning and she just turned it in

 

I just don’t understand the work ethic of waiting until the literal last minute if it’s YOUR work of art. Just delay it until you’re satisfied and you are 100% sure it’s finished. I’d rather that than getting a rushed product that might still be tinkered with after its release

 

she's a type a perfectionist and if she didn't give herself a firm deadline it could be another year lol

With each passing day, it feels more and more like “TDE is preventing me from releasing music“ was a load of shit

 

Also, it’s probably been said already, but it’s so stupid that she’s just calling this a deluxe version of an album that dropped two years ago instead of its own project

 

I think we've known this for years haha

 

anyone wanna guess how many new songs will be on this? i'm down for it having a good number more, but 23 on the base album (even if some of them are short) is already a stretch for some listeners.

 

I'm guessing 15 new tracks

I actually relate to needing a deadline to get anything done and then cramming it all in at the last possible minute so I really can't be mad at SZA here. As long as the quality is there in the end, then I'm good. Using this as an excuse the listen to Ctrl & SOS this morning

 

Yeah it’s annoying but I have some other albums I need to catch up on

 

I also never listen to albums before like 1 pm on a Friday so I'm okay too haha , and yeah her being a perfectionist and a pathological liar makes her more relatable
