If it makes you feel any better, 2016 is one of the lowest ranked among the community. So it's basically uphill from there. It was basically the first of the reboot so people mainly look back at it fondly just for that.

 

Also, Blood vs Water (Season 7) is also extremely divisive, you either love it or hate it haha and most people didn't care for it. It DID have Sandra from US survivor though, playing with her daughter.

 

I apologize (not really) for the quadruple post but I EAGERLY look forward to you new convert's thoughts on Titans vs Rebels. Many now call it THE best season of any country or at least top 3 of the entire franchise and I know watching it week to week had me on my edge at all times.

Believe. The. Hype.

 

Yeah I figured going into it that it could be a rough start and not judge it. Some really bad twists, the host was way too forthcoming at tribals and reveals things when he shouldn't, too many players simply not playing, etc etc


Anyway, now that some of us are watching, I think we should spoiler tag any specifics from any season if we want to discuss, since everyone is at different places.

For example something like...

AUS 2017: on episode 2, AK is playing so hard so fast its insane

 

Ah, 2017 haha. It's a good thing you're watching that one currently as two of that seasons are gonna be in the Aus vs World.....Luke and Sarah! Just you wait 2016 picks up and it doesn't stop!

As much as 2016 was an the start of the reboot, 2017 you could still tell it was as if the show was trying to find it's voice. Luckily after these two seasons is when they started implementing the themed seasons which imo gave the show aan even bigger refresh.

Yeah I hope as we get more viewers (if you need links just say so) we get more discussions. AUS really is a joy to watch from where it got rebooted (2016) to where it is now and the accolade it's earned so much so that Aus vs The World is even possible!

 

Not gonna lie I am mainly watching because I’m excited for Aus vs. the World lol

 

Well Titans vs Rebels just happens to be mandatory watching to catch up on one of the Aus players!

Ok if anyone's watching for Aus vs The World and wants to familiarize themselves with JUST the people appearing:

S2 2017 (Sarah, Luke)
S5 & S6 Champions vs Contenders 1 & 2 (Shonee, David, Luke, Shanine)
S7 All Stars (Shonee, David)
S8 Brains vs Brawn (George)
S10 Heroes vs Villains (George, Shonee)
S11 Titans vs Rebels (Kirby)

 

I’m starting with just the most recent of those I think, seasons 8, 10, and 11. And then if I still want more I’ll go back to the beginning. The seasons are LONG with full 1+ hour episodes and 24 episodes long lol. But it’s perfect to get my survivor fix during the US offseason right now.

 

They ARE long haha, which is why lately I've come to like them over US. You spend so much more time with the cast, and when you watch live it's 3 episodes a week so you're spending a LOT of time with them. S8-S11 is a perfect trifecta and you get to see the beginnings of King George so you're definitely choosing great seasons to start out with.

 

This is the kinda stuff i was suggesting spoiler tags for, now I'm spoiled on two people who I know won't be in danger for a while.... Maybe we need an Aus Survivor thread to avoid it entirely

 

Oh I'm sorry! If it helps at all the people announced for World isn't indicative at all of their performance, AUS prioritizes personality and who resonates with the fans over everything else really.

Like if I were to say Bhanu or Jelinsky or even Q from 46 were gonna be in 50.....it's not because they won, or even placed top 5 or w/e, it's because those people made an impact. For better. Or worse lol. I'm pretty sure Gabler won't be on 50. Someone like Jelinsky and his "several" quote will live on far longer than Gabler's win. Will AUS team be full of winners? Maybe. Maybe not. But they ARE memorable players whether they won or not, for however long they lasted!

Every once and awhile I go down some true crime rabbit holes on YouTube and am watching a video where Sarah Lucina and her partner interrogate a very dumb man who murdered his family. Crazy small world since there are a billions of these kinds of videos on YouTube.

 

I still have like, 10+ episodes left, but Aus Survivor 2017 is already waaaaayyyyyyyy better than 2016, great stuff so far

 

Michele and Kelli (what the hell guys) have a new podcast that was started on the RHAP network called The Social Game. They need out in all things Survivor and add a bit of other report show stuff and play lil games. This week's episode they had Parvati as the guest, last week was Dee. It's fun!

Little over a week until AUS Brains vs Brawn 2!

 

Just finished Aus #2, very good. I wish we could have like, a sub thread for that series instead of just this one because I won't catch up in time to avoid spoilers for current seasons
