Lol Kyle. Sam's fire making was bananas tho, totally unexpected. He gave good answers at final tribal too so a tiny part of me thought it could be close. But hell yeah, Rachel making history!
Saw this coming weeks ago though Sam put up a hell of a fight at the end. Rachel is the best all around winner of the new era in my opinion. Incredible player.
Kenzie was cool but I seriously think Rachel edges out Dee as my favorite winner of the new era. Those 2 are up there as my favorites and most deserving imo.
Sam was super compelling at FTC but seems like most people already had their votes locked in. Also LOL at nobody being shocked at Sue revealing her real age. Anyone here listen to multiple podcasts? And if so is Sam on one yet? Would love to hear his POV.
I think Sam put up a good fight at the end and did everything right, which I'm happy he did so it wasn't a boring finale, but Rachel just played too well to beat. The only thing that would have changed things is if the jury was bitter about something she did.
lmao the way Andy moves and positions himself in the hammock after telling Rachel it’s in his best interest to vote for her and then trying to look/act arrogant or like a movie villain. Definitely a very interesting and unique player with a ton of ups and downs but overall not a fan of him. The way the season presented him seemed like a mix of someone with super low self esteem and then swings of incredible arrogance. And while everyone to some extend displays that way on the show, at least how his edit looks seems to be significantly higher and lower swings than most. I also refuse to believe they don’t have shampoo or some shit on the island. No way his hair would look like that after 20+ days in the goddamn jungle lol
Absolutely loved this season, but yeah it was extremely obvious Rachel was going to win so that was a little underwhelming. She deserved it, but I was rooting for Sam
I watched the FTC again this morning and was somehow even more surprised/stunned at how bad Sue was at answering questions. “You should vote for me because it’s my birthday today and I’m old!” was a hilarious choice to make
Very random thought that I’ve had numerous times throughout watching Survivor - so the producers hound the cast about not swearing while on the show? I don’t watch a lot of reality tv shows but basically any MTV show (The Challenge in particular) has constant swearing but I’m sure that with all the alcohol and people being asked to play up their emotions plays into that and I feel like unless Survivor is wildly edited - and idk how they’d do that - there isn’t a whole lot of swearing that ends up on the episodes. Every once and awhile sure, but you would think there would be more. All the blindsides and what’s her faces Applebee’s meltdown and the show is significantly PG in terms of language and I wonder how they get that.
I was kinda thinking that might be the case and that they just edited out any background swearing during challenges at least and removed it WITHOUT the annoying “beep” that tv used to do when someone swore. That noise was always so goddamn annoying.
Decided to finally take the dive into Aus Survivor and stared with the 2016 season and am just going in order from there... I gotta say, the 2016 season was one of the worst seasons of this show I have ever seen, just utterly terrible front to back for so many reasons I can't even start. That being said, the 2017 season already feels better after watching just one episode, so that's promising. I know that fans regard some of these seasons pretty highly, and I remember this thread talking about some highly, so I am excited to get through them. They are way way way too long though
^Thats funny, I just started AUS survivor today lol. I’m starting with Brain vs Brawn though because that’s what this thread recommended. First episode was wild, I can already see why George is one of the biggest characters on any version of this show and I had heard the name before.
I wanted to start at the beginning (minus two really old seasons) because I know multiple seasons have returners and that would spoil previous seasons to see returners that ultimately talk about their previous seasons, etc.
