This really bums me out because, while I am enjoying this season, it also feels kind of aimless compared to the last few season long arcs and a lot of that seems to have been propelled by a.) losing Amy and b.) the sudden cancellation announcement. Makes me wish they’d gotten one more season so they could really commit to closing out everyone’s stories rather than what now feels like a situation where we’ll be rushing to the finish line.
I’m just glad they trusted the ensemble to keep on carrying the show and didn’t try to shoe horn in a “big” name to try and be that driving central narrative. But they probably still should have given that role to /someone/ already in the cast. Cheyenne makes the most sense to me, tbh, but I also see how you could shy away from commuting to that right away. But the episode where she was the floor manager and confronted Mateo was excellent, especially in her overall character arc from “trope teenage mom” to “leader.” and suddenly I love this show even more.
I meant from a pure business sense. A big name to send to talkshows can still be the difference between renewal and cancellations. Tina Fay said she is convinced that 30 Rock was renewed several times because of Alec Baldwin.
Now that there’s a hard date on this show’s end, not getting an episode this week was a significant bummer that I wasn’t prepared for haha
"What's with your friends Winston Bishop?" "They kicked over the grill and ran that way." "....I know" Just noticed that was Marcus in that scene lol
for some reason Hulu hasn't showed me there were new episodes the past few weeks, all caught up now. Love seeing Maria Thayer show up, the cancelled joke in the newest episode got me good.
same. have you been watching old episodes as well? because it's done that to me with new episodes on more than just Superstore
Yeah, they nailed it. Very nice ending. I'm also excited for the Cheyenne spinoff if it includes her working at the hardware store with Glenn and Mateo
