Never heard of him but apparently he was in Matilda?? EDIT Oh, some 2017 movie. Google had the wrong thumbnail under his name lol
I do think it’s odd the TV-MA HBO Max shows like Peacemaker and Lanterns are this connected to the more general audience superhero movies like Superman but whatever I don’t have kids
it bugs me less than the Marvel shows because Peacemaker is a good show and I don't have to watch ten of them, but I agree everything is just brand promotion it sucks
Well so far we don't know if they'll tie together in a way that actually requires viewing. Green Lantern being in the film doesn't necessarily imply you need to watch Lanterns, you know?
I think there could be a reasonable question about how much sense it makes to have entertainment for kids and for adults under the same umbrella. But also, that’s been a thing for a very long time, so idk, whatever. I lean towards thinking, if we’re gonna have all this cape shit, might as well pursue a variety of tones, etc., instead of everything feeling homogenous. I’m glad Man of Tomorrow will have John Stewart. Has Supergirl been formally “confirmed” yet?
My one criticism of the Gunn TV-MA stuff is the profanity is like borderline “kid who just learned how to swear” over the top. Like, was Green Lantern chock full of “fucks”?
Not that surprising that something Tom King worked on would have language like that. His comics often have excessive cursing… that then are censored with grawlix, so it’s a whole bunch of unnecessary “?@#$%!” sprinkled through the word balloons. I don’t really care either way in this case, though. Just furthers how much it feels inspired by Logan, lol, which. Why not. I’m sure the Lanterns will be more colorful in Man of Tomorrow.
This was decent, but it also felt like several movies worth of plot in just two hours. I will take a Krypto spin off though.
